About Paper Bride
Solve puzzles and uncover dark secrets as you search for your vanished bride in a wedding ceremony gone terrifyingly wrong, where reality itself transforms into paper and folklore comes alive. This Chinese horror mystery draws inspiration from classic tales and folk traditions, weaving authentic cultural elements into a chilling narrative about ancient customs and buried supernatural mysteries.

Inspirations:
There are lots of creative horror stories in traditional Chinese folklore: paper figures blocking the way, underworld spirits marching, bizarre temples, ghost trap... But these elements are rarely used in games. After having nightmares about Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, Extensive Records of the Taiping Era, A Wicked Ghost and other novels and movies, we think it's a shame that only we could experience the horror, so we made this traditional Chinese horror mystery puzzle game to share with the world.
When the groom turns toward his bride on the wedding ceremony, her traditional red wedding dress suddenly turns into an ominous white paper one before she vanishes without a trace.

As I'm still in shock and looking for my bride, I realize that the food and decorations have also turned into paper. What on earth is going on here?

Have bizarre encounters and solve well-designed puzzles one by one while you search for the truth.

As more mysteries are solved, you come to know about the dark mystic custom in the bride's village and a story long buried in the past...

A very beautifully designed point&click puzzle game! I adore the folklore theme and the story regarding it is quite interesting. The detailed graphics are gorgeous and portray the setting in an immersive way, plus the overall atmosphere is great and manages to be creepy. I found it enjoyable to explore the maps and the gameplay in general felt satisfying. Playing majority of it in one sitting was a mistake though, I went from feeling clever to feeling lobotomized after two chapters and had to follow a video since my brain gave up. (˙◠˙) The puzzles vary from being simple and intuitive to rather difficult, however none of them were "unsolvable" as the necessary information is always present, just takes lots of thinking (and screenshotting). There are also helpful hints offered but I refused to use them for achievements' sake.. Altogether it's a lovely game with a memorable setting and I'm looking forward to play more from this series eventually!15 found this helpful
I definitely recommend playing Paper Bride! I actually first discovered it through the Identity V collab. Later, my boyfriend told me it was based on a real game and recommended that I play the original, and I’m really glad I did. The game was fun, and the story is incredibly interesting. It kept me hooked from start to finish, and I especially loved how it incorporates Chinese folklore and traditional customs into both the story and the puzzles. It made the atmosphere feel even more immersive and unique. There are a few minor language barriers since some puzzles use Chinese characters, but they’re easy to work around. The in-game hints are usually enough to help you figure things out, and if you know someone who can read Chinese, they can give you a hand if needed. It didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the game at all. If you enjoy horror games with puzzles, a great story, and folklore-inspired horror, I’d definitely recommend giving Paper Bride a try!3 found this helpful

Finally 100% the game~ This review contains SPOILER FOR THE GAME'S ENDING Translation was okay, had no major issues understanding the texts. The music was so haunting and matched the art style of the game so well. The puzzles sometimes were dulling the mood with how hard some of them were (thankfully I could skip it on first walkthrough on my stream, so that was nice of the game :3) I liked the moment where we used our phone to see ghost, I wish they would have added that to more puzzles in the story... I loved the story, it made me genuinely anxious to save our bride in time. Now the ending...I did not like how they just brushed off all the supernatural stuff they experienced, but then again I get it if the characters just wanted to move on with their lifes after this horrible kidnapping and attempted murder situation. I guess I have to play the other games to see if that part makes any sense in the lore. o7 All in all the game was awsome and made me jump a lot with those scares. Would recommend it, if you are into clicker type, horror puzzle games! The game for me is a 8/10 /ᐠ > ˕ <マ ₊˚⊹♡1 found this helpful
Sheesh. I like the concept of this game. This game portray the Chinese Ghost Bride perfectly. The puzzle is hard but it's worth it I guess. I'm looking forward to buy another of their game and hopefully it is good.
It was really enjoyable, there's a couple of puzzles where I think I missed the cultural and writting knowledge needed to solve them, but they were not enough to ruin the experience because the puzzle solving, the story and the art were really good.
