Update: On the latest Windows 11 builds, XP SP2 mode does seem to cause a fair bit of microstutter and frame drops, so maybe only apply that settings in problematic spots... FYI: The English version of the game is using the Russian dub, this might not be that obvious for people, since some budget publishers would actually remove the original/foreign language dub without providing an alternative... Resolution FIx and potential crash workaround. If you can't select you monitor resoultion, try running the game with a wrapper at a fixed resolution (your desktop resolution) (enumurate refresh rates) and refresh rate (60hz) https://dege.fw.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/ (The game may need 9800GT selected). The game itself works poorly with a wrapper, but it should be stable enough for you to select a resolution in the main menu and apply settings, after that you can delete the wrapper files again. I believe the game also works best in WinXP SP2 mode as it does appear to have some memory management problems, although the general instability was far too random to get a clear answer. Also in the second level, I had to kill all enemies on the map, before talking to the main objective guy whic…37 found this helpful
How to run it in 1080p: Use DxWnd. Pick SD+HD in the (Screen Resolution) options in the [Video] tab. Run the game, go into options and set it to 1080p. Make sure to uncheck (Run in Window) in the [Main] tab of DxWnd. Partisan is a really cool top-down rpg shooter that got delisted a number of years ago. It's very nice to see the English text version being available again. The game is very janky, but it's pretty fun to play and the weapon and skill progression are satisfying. It's also kind of entertaining to see the game draw inspiration from Titan Quest. Partisan is a World War II action RPG developed by Paradigm and published by Strategy First that combines tactical combat, stealth mechanics, role-playing systems, and war-driven storytelling into an experience focused on survival and resistance during one of history’s most devastating conflicts. Rather than presenting war entirely through massive battlefield encounters, the game emphasizes smaller operations behind enemy lines where planning, adaptability, and resourcefulness become just as important as combat ability. The result is an experience that blends military action with role-playing progression while placing players inside a dangerous struggle shaped by desperation and determination. The story follows a former Soviet officer whose life has already been damaged by political circumstances before war enters the picture. As enemy forces advance and battle conditions collapse, his military unit is destroyed and surviving comrades disappear into enemy control. Left isolated and surrounded by danger, he becomes involved in a mission that extends beyond simple survival. Rescue operations, hidden enemy activities, and rumors surrounding a dangerous secret project gradually pull t…
An interesting take on hack and slash; gameplay is quite simple so is the story but for 1 EUR on discount is great value.
