Pay Me In Colors is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This shovelware platformer is sincerely (if badly) made and features quite a few levels and a selection of tried and true platformer gimmicks like gravity reverse and so on. However, once you get past that it's a fairly standard and uninteresting platformer in a sea of thousands of better alternatives. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings (I won't deign to call these "illustrations"). It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. I loved this game! It was simple and very fun to play. The level design was amazing. The tutorials helped me learn the mechanics nice and quick. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who wants a good old fashioned 2D platformer to play.
