About Peregrin

Peregrin is a story puzzle game, combining myth, fantasy and sci-fi.

Peregrin’s story is a moving take on the struggle to overcome both personal and collective loss – beautifully realised in an epic mythical style.

Take control of Abi as she leaves her scavenger tribe to embark upon an epic journey into the wastelands of the divide. Mysterious monoliths and strange artefacts await her there, revealing the secrets of these fallen lands.

Peregrin's absorbing gameplay revolves around the use of Abi's arcane powers. Use them to take temporary control of the creatures you encounter - from simple animals to The Divide's hostile guardians. Turn the unique abilities of each creature to your advantage in solving puzzles and surviving battles.
  • A rich and immersive narrative, fully voiced in English.
  • 5 chapters comprising over 60 visually stunning scenes.
  • Intuitive and rewarding gameplay featuring the unique creature possession mechanic.
  • Bespoke art style inspired by canonical sci-fi artists such as John Harris and Moebius.
  • Custom composed musical score for a fully cinematic experience.
  • Full controller support.

Ranking it out of 10? 7, I guess. It is what it says on the tin, puzzle game with a background narrative that develops as you progress. Puzzles are either you controlling 3 types of creatures to make your way forward or something that's almost turn-based combat, in the sense that enemies don't move unless you move. The setting is interesting and the twist at the ending was quite something. I didn't find any bugs myself, but I've seen other people complain about that, your mileage may vary. My only gripe were that some of the achievements were a bit BS. Not being something that requires skill or going out of your way to do, but instead stuff like "do this section perfect or reset your save" or "guess this combination of levers the first time".

100% - 2.3 hrs Achievements - 27 Review - 5/10 - I love an indie game, so I was looking forward to this one, but unfortunately its jsut a very short game that honestly doesn't really do much. The puzzles aren't difficult, the combat is a bit meh and the story is just another take on religion and the end of the world. The game does have a really good art style and some good character design, I was looking forward to it at the start, but as I got further in it just got a bit boring, nothing really changed. I didn't enjoy having to constantly switch between characters just to complete puzzles, having to see the same animation over and over again as you switch back and forth got boring really quick and it got a bit frustrating. I feel like the placement of characters is just convenient, there isn't really any challenge as everyone is relatively close to the problem so there isn't really a lot of thinking required which is a shame. Combat was as simple as poses an enemy, use that enemy to take out another before a third enemy takes your one out, then just finish the last enemy with your weapon. And its like this all the way through. There's only 4 types of enemy, small guy, big guy…

Linear puzzle game with a somber atmosphere along the lines of "Minute of Islands" or "She Remembered Caterpillars". The voice acting is nice, and the experience doesn't overstay its welcome (depending on how much you can tolerate the slowness of the creatures).

Good atmosphere and visuals, but mediocre gameplay and puzzles.
