This game is a spin-off of Khimera: Destroy all Monster Girls and story elements from this game are referenced or mentioned from time to time. However, Khimera: Puzzle Island is a self-contained story that can still be enjoyed without any knowledge of prior events in the series.

[h1]Short Review[/h1] Khimera: Puzzle Island is a genuinely great nonogram game with a surprising amount of charm packed into it. The pixel art is excellent, the music is legitimately good, the story is more engaging than you'd expect from a puzzle game, and the puzzles themselves are polished and fair. The lack of an undo button is a frustrating oversight on the larger puzzles, and there's a minor gripe about the game sometimes giving away information too early, but those are small marks against what is otherwise a very well-made game. A lot of them treat art, music, and story as afterthoughts, focusing entirely on the puzzle design and calling it a day. Khimera: Puzzle Island doesn't do that. It commits to the whole package, and the result is a game that's more enjoyable to spend time in than most puzzle games have any right to be. Only real gamers play the puzzle game spin-off for 20 hours before playing the original
Fun little Picross game. Timers are too generous in most stages and items are unnecessary so far, and I'm about 40% through the game's puzzles, not counting the 4 tapestry Picross puzzles. The art is cute, the interstitial scenes are cute, monster girls are cute, what's not to love here? "Let's get that BREAD!"
Extremely cute Picross-like with extremely good music. If you have a nonogram problem like I do this is a must-play. Had mild issues on Steam Deck, but nothing enough to ruin the game. Nothing the touchscreen can't fix.
I enjoyed it tho I did sort of cheat the system a bit by seeing which "1" gets darkened when there's something like 1 1 1 1. If the left most 1 gets dark then I automatically know I can X the whole left side for example. Definitely worth the price for the amount of puzzles you get and the tutorial does a nice job in explaining how the puzzle works.
If you like Picross puzzles, this game is for you!
