Persian Nights 2: The Moonlight Veil

Another hidden object game. These all follow the same basic template. Simple story. Simple puzzles. A good way to burn a couple hours.

I have really enjoyed the history, music and lore in both the Persian Nights game, and I think the games are fun to play. However, I have started to really loathe the "hurry up" nonesense and nagging. Please stop, I know we're in a hurry, because you told me multiple during every single location I've been to! Yasmin was a real hotty though ;D! The short story is that you're in a magic school, very unlike Hogwarts, and you've got a really hot sister called Yasmin, which sort of is a troublemaker. The fight between good and evil, with an extra bonus game in the end, with a sort of different variety than we are mostly used to! What more to say? Well, if you do achievements, make sure you exhaust every single conversation topic there is. I'm pretty sure I did that, but still had to replay 40 minutes of the game, only for the final achievement to pop up... Speaking about achievements, the collectibles for this game are the most annoying collectibles I've ever looked for in these games from Artifex Mundi. It takes up very much of your focus for the actual game and story, and it's really not that good. To make it even worse, I tend to feel those collectibles are shifting in and out, so…

Okay for a casual HOG player, not the most straightforward scene solving but the story was fine with some cheesy voice acting. Bakhtak was cool.

Oh wow! So the only Middle Eastern looking character in the whole game was the [spoiler]Bad Guy[/spoiler]... AGAIN! It looks like it's gonna be the same thing in the next game too, if that [spoiler]ominous guy in the bonus chapter[/spoiler] is anything to go by. The artwork is gorgeous and the [spoiler]futuristic ancient tower in the bonus chapter was cool[/spoiler] but that's about it. The game play was just standard fair for these mobile friendly pointandclick games and the story doesn't exactly make up for it. The love interest [spoiler]fake-out villain[/spoiler] still comes off as mega creepy with his stalker shrine and locking an actual person in a bird cage no matter how generically handsome you make him. The Prince of Persia knockoff from the first game was better than this guy. Sheesh. [spoiler]Keeping him the villain and the teacher a good guy would have been way more interesting! These games main demographic is women and believe me most of us can relate to unwanted advances. That could even be the guys villain motive. Better than the teacher... wanting power or something. Just tried playing this on MacOS and it's so buggy as soon as you try to use an item that it's unplayable. Will be asking for a refund
