> the story pulls you in, right at the start. though it's short, it's written in a way where you are never too sure where you're going - and until you get to a certain point - the mystery is kept concealed. keeps you guessing, keeps you wanting to know more. at first i thought the story would be about the town itself, the townsfolk, then perhaps about some strange being in the woods... it all unravels nicely. the puzzles, though only a few, are not too difficult and manageable. the final puzzle piece to the story, was truly a shock for me, and playing through again to notice the details really put everything into a new perspective. pros: - text is easy to digest - puzzles are not difficult - secret achievement (real nice) - the story keeps you hooked and guessing - art style is real nice cons: - not too many choices to make - felt rushed in a couple of places overall, recommended. i'll be thinking about that ending for a while.1 found this helpful
This was a beautiful short story (15 min.) about a lot of things. I really enjoy that the ''better'' ending for the protagonist choosing not to
kill himself
. It could have been another story about grief that ends in
inevitable suicide
, and I'm glad we could choose not to. Beautiful music too! For photosentitive people, there's no jumpscares, only still images following one after another. It's safe to play if you can handle the pixelated art.
To become an object in the face of one's own inaction.
It's truly one of the best Visual Novel Games I've ever played. The story, the atmosphere, the visual novels—the list goes on. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre. Those who don't play it will miss out.
Very cool narrative driven game with an awesome art style.
It's a short, narrative-focused game. Well-written, self-contained. Although it deals with some heavy stuff, there are content warnings that maybe could have been more emphasized. I finished the game in two separate sessions. In the first I played the first half, and in the second session I completed the game. In my second session, I think I found a bug: I could not enter the room 101, thus couldn't get the clue there. It might be about the fact that I got the room 101 achievement in my first session. I couldn't find a way to contact the developer, so maybe look out for that.
