This is only worth reading if you read the OG Planetarian and wanted to get a little bit more about Yumemi's life before all the bad stuff starts to happen in the game's world. It'd be like the equivalent of having a two hour look at life in Rapture before the main BioShock events occur. As a story, it's kind of bland, but I'd recommend it just because I appreciated the OG a lot.4 found this helpful
Developed by VISUAL ARTS/Key and published by VISUAL ARTS, planetarian: Snow Globe is a standalone kinetic visual novel that expands the universe of the acclaimed planetarian series by exploring events that occurred before the original story. Rather than focusing on survival in a devastated world, this prequel presents a gentler narrative centered on everyday life, giving players the opportunity to experience the peaceful days that shaped the beloved robotic heroine, Yumemi Hoshino. As a kinetic novel, the experience is entirely story-driven, offering no branching paths or gameplay decisions, allowing the narrative to unfold exactly as intended through carefully paced scenes and emotional storytelling. The game revolves around Yumemi's work at a department store planetarium alongside her supervisor, Satomi Kurahashi, and other employees. Through ordinary interactions and workplace routines, the story gradually builds meaningful relationships that highlight Yumemi's innocent curiosity and unwavering dedication to bringing happiness to visitors. While the premise appears modest, the writing succeeds by transforming everyday conversations into heartfelt moments that emphasize friends…
More planetarian is always good. But play this after the main game even though snow globe is a prequel. Fully playable on steam deck. I used ProtonGE but normal Proton might work.
