Plastiland is a charming, small-scale puzzle-platformer that wears its inspirations proudly while carving out a distinct identity through its handcrafted visual style. Co-developed by FreshGem and Zillion Whales and published by Zillion Whales, the game draws clear lineage from classic “guide-the-creatures” puzzle games, most notably the Lemmings tradition, but reimagines that formula in a whimsical world that looks as though it has been sculpted entirely from colorful plasticine. The result is an experience that feels nostalgic in structure yet visually playful and approachable, designed more for thoughtful problem solving than high-pressure challenge. At the center of the gameplay are the small clay creatures known as plastiballs, which wander through levels filled with hazards, gaps, and environmental obstacles. The player’s role is indirect: rather than controlling the plastiballs directly, you assign them specific jobs that alter their behavior and allow progress through each stage. These roles include builders that create walkways, crushers that destroy barriers, and other specialized functions that must be deployed carefully and in limited quantities. Each level becomes a p…
A very nice lemmings-style puzzle game. + New take on an old concept + Nice clay-based vusual style + Nice puzzle design (some 3-star solutions can be head-scratchers, but not too diabolically difficult) + Level names - A bit downhearted that "Coming soon" levels never came to be, although existing 48 puzzles are not too shabby as they are. - No "Reset progress" button, have to mess with the config files to restart from scratch. One of the favorite games of my 3-year old. (Although she can do only a few levels + tutorial by herself, the rest is a "team effort", obviously).
It's lemmings with a claymation style. It's a neat concept for a game.
entertaining problem solving
Lemmings with a pause and without the timer. In other words, an improved version of the original classic, one you'll still be able to play at 122 years old. The interface is lacking, notably basic sound volume options, but the puzzles are good, which is the most important criterion to get the thumb up. Next is the colourfulness, one of the 2 selling points for me, along with the 90% discount.
The earth is 4.6 billion years old and we managed to exist at the same time as this masterpiece.
