Pocky & Rocky Reshrined

Pocky and Rocky Reshrined is a game which apparently is partly a remake to the SNES original but branches off into a new story as you go further in the game. This game took me about 2.5 hours to fully beat story mode and I think for its price, 30 dollars. It's a bit on the more expensive side. The good thing is though that this game is filled with charm, it incorporates Japanese mythology to a cutesy top-down shooter, think of games such as Shock Troopers on the Neo Geo. The spritework in the game is also simply amazing and is eye-candy to the player, the developers put in a lot of effort to make the sprites as vibrant and expressive as possible. What separates from normal arcade shooters like those is that Pocky and Rocky has a story narrative where you are locked to a certain character depending on which stage you're at, free mode gets unlocked after beating story mode. The game has a dodge button, melee which is used to deflect enemies close to you or reflect projectiles, and a standard melee projectile which can be upgraded.
