Q: HOW DO I PLAY THIS GAAAAAAME!!!!
A: You use the POLE to pole jump off walls, floors, and ceilings.
For example:
Use the POLE Downwards to jump up from a floor
Use the POLE Upwards to launch down from a ceiling
Use the POLE Leftwards to jump right from a wall
Use the POLE Rightwards to jump left from a wall
Keep practicing, try new things, and you will succeed.
Q: What is the point of POLE?

This game's difficulty comes not from clever level design but from horrible camera angles and important information being obscured by foreground elements and terrible lighting
For some reason the controlls settings are blocked. The idea is interesting, but the dificulty it's just unfair and overall not very fun.
The game was really fun overall, but very challenging. Wish it had an option for using the d-pad instead of the joystick for better precision(I had to use the keyboard for the last boss fight because the joystick felt too floaty).

Never recommended until that atrocious control scheme is fixed. It makes doing even basic jumps a failure 90 % of the time. It is telling that even in the tutorial footage the gravity is greatly reduced to the point of the dude almost levitating so that the tutorial dude can do a basic wall jump. The game lags just enough so that hitting the specific required input window frames is sometimes not even possible. If you want to make a retro / NES platformer, your controls have to be 110 % smooth and the game cannot lag. Even if those controls were changed, there is the final nail to the coffin - input acceleration. Why? NES games did not have that. It makes everything slippery af.
