Polygone is a really nice old style arcade game that gives its best when played locally with friends. Gameplay is simple and straight to the point but the increasing difficulty and ship variety makes every playthrough exciting. Would reccomend to anyone that likes classic games and some comfy couch coop or battle with friends!
I actually played this game with 3 of my friends and I can honestly say that Polygone is perfect for action packed couch co-op! We were sucked in right away, shooting asteroids and fighting bosses left and right. The graphics and gameplay are great and extremely engaging but by far my favorite part is the sounds. From the background music to the little sound effects every shot or when using a nuke, everything was phenomenal. Everything ran so smooth and we all enjoyed this game a lot. I can tell the creator has put a lot of passion into it, especially with the multiple game modes. Arcade is the one we played a lot but VS was also quite entertaining. Arcade is where we spent a good hour just trying to survive waves of enemies and it was a blast! The only recommendations I would have for this game is: 1. Make the tutorial a bit slower. Although the game is pretty simple and straightforward, the tutorial flies by quite fast and it is a bit hard to understand what some things will do later on. 2. Make some things faster! By things I mean the ships, asteroids, and even the bullets. Sometimes we would clear the entire screen and just realize that it gets kind of slow when little to nothi…
Polygone is a pretty simple but really entertaining 2D game to play by your own or in local coop; the retro look made me remember immediately Atari's Asteroids. The rules? Don't get hit and shoot everything. There are 4 game modes: (1) Arcade, (2) Battle, (3) Penelope and (4) Challenge. (1) The Arcade Mode was my personal favorite and the one I played the most; evade missiles, destroy asteroids, defeat the boss, survive. I played alone and noticed that the best way to get more levels is to select a good team, don't use the same ship for all players, having different ships (special abilities) really help. (2) It's like Arcade but you are on your own. (3) A more casual mode, slow-paced compared to others. It's a spelling oriented game and fun to play. (4) Challenge, 3 modes, Missile Dodge, Asteroid Belt and Boss Mania. Missile Dodge and Asteroid Belt are basically the same, evade, but the second of course blast the asteroids. The Boss Mania is fighting boss after boss, no power ups, good luck and choose your ship wisely.
