About Pompeii: The Legacy
Twenty years after the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii rises from the ashes. As the head of a Roman family, you will guide the city's rebirth, shaping its future through politics, trade, and the challenges of life in the Empire.
The city may have been destroyed, but its spirit endures. Rebuild Pompeii from the ground up, balancing the needs of patricians, plebeians, and slaves, each with their own ambitions and grudges. Every street, forum, market, and aqueduct shapes not just the city, but the fortunes of your family for centuries to come.Lead across decades, navigating the shifting tides of Roman politics. Shape laws, negotiate trade rights, and form alliances through marriage or contract. Secure favor with emperors, outwit rivals, and expand your family's influence far beyond Pompeii's walls.Construct housing, temples, arenas, and more to meet your citizens' needs. Establish trade routes across the Empire, monitor shifting markets, and keep your economy strong. Every decision, good or bad, can echo for generations. The game incorporates active and passive bonuses through Family Bonuses, Research and Development, and Imperial Privileges. There are two main research branches: Technology and Philosophy. The greatest threats are not always on the battlefield. Earthquakes, fires, famine, plagues, and political sabotage can strike without warning. Some enemies will wear armor, others will smile as they shake your hand, all will test your leadership.

Firstly, I’d like to give kudos to the solo developer who put this out. I think city building is my favorite genre, yet I’ve been jumping from game to game without sticking to any of them. I’ve been hooked up on Pompeii The Legacy since I bought it. It’s pretty chill, the gameplay loop has kept me engaged. I don’t have much time for games nowadays and that’s pretty much what I would expect from a good catch. Plus the whole Rome setting (although corny) is pretty entertaining. To mention a small grip I have with the game, I feel like the Research Tree system is a bit underused and maybe pointless? At one point I am simply randomly upgrading stuff because they go by so quick that It doesn’t really matter what I prioritize.1 found this helpful
Okay, I have to say I do enjoy this game in general. The grid format has drawbacks but it also makes for some very satisfying and symmetrical designs I enjoy. Good variety of buildings and a decent progression that makes it feel natural expanding your city. With that said, though, there are drawbacks. It feels somewhere between an early access game and a nostalgic early 2000s game, and not in the good way. Camera controls can be clunky, the camera just doesn't go low enough to really enjoy your city, and overall it feels a little dated. It ran a little slow at times through most of the game, but reaching the late game it suddenly came to a screeching halt, maybe 1 FPS. Mechanics-wise, it's lacking. It has military production but no military. It just feels like a needless production line. It has naval trade and ship building but no control over those ships besides assigning them to trade routes. Luxury items don't seem to have any purpose except to give you another thing to produce or trade for. There's also just three maps, all of which are relatively small, boring, and completely unrealistic looking. If it was early access or 20 years old I could forgive it. To their credit the…
a good game
Relaxed city builder with a deep tech tree. Enough variation in buildings and decor to create cities with a unique feel. Good support as well. Had a save game that didn't wanna load and it got fixed that day.
Nice kinda relaxing game. Recommenden for a 30-hour campaign plus sandbox.
This game is fun. If you have some basic programming skills.
