The poor man's Anno.3 found this helpful
I really enjoyed this game and I haven't even completed all the bonus scenarios yet. I finished the Rome campaign and found it super challenging and fun. It's more of a resource production line manager like Anno than a city builder like CS. There's a balance you have to find especially early on between production and adding another building. You can't just spam buildings you really have to plan out your progress. Do you need to get housing leveled up or build a monument or have a certain amount of resources? You can easily fail by focusing on one aspect over another especially early on before you have a decent income. Your money comes mostly from taxes and it's easy to overspend initially. People don't pay taxes if they are unemployed so you'll start with placing a few fields and the buildings for bread and some houses for the worker, a well, a temple, this allows those level 1 workers to level up their houses and therefore pay more taxes and have room for more people. It's important to level up the housing so they hold more workers without using more required resources. The production chains get pretty complex and a bit micro-managey which I love. Some buildings need the level 2…1 found this helpful
Ultra chill city builder designed for those passionate enthusiasts of Classical Antiquity all around the world. Best enjoyed during holidays or whenever you have a fair amount of spare time to invest on long gameplays. Glory of Rome is far from overloading the player with countless missions. Actually I even felt that rushing towards objectives spoiled things a lil' - so do take your time and enjoy the imersion by the detail. It is really worthwhile. Ah, last but not least: the dev is extra diligent, really impressively zealous!1 found this helpful
A city builder in the vein of Caesar & Pharaoh by Sierra On-Line / Impressions Games. It doesn't do as much as those games did thirty years ago; but, I suppose it beats crucifixion.
The game has a nice concept, but it lags a great deal. However, the biggest turn off is that there is no save game feature. Meaning you cant hold onto your progress unless you leave the program running 24/7. I only play this game when i have a few minutes to wait for a game upgrade on my origin server. I wish i could save my progress. I would have refunded the game the next day if Steam did not have the severely limited time constraint on refunds. 2 hrs game time is absurd. it should be 24 hrs or within 2 or 3 days.
Who makes a game with no ability to save your progress. The higher level you achieve you need more time to complete but I cant sit here for 4 or 5 hours. The graphics cause terrible instability and it will impair performance. I wont waste another minute on this garbage.
