About Project Explore

Project Explore is a 2D sandbox survival game developed with only the best in mind. The simple yet responsive UI is there to help the player, not hinder them. It has a high-functioning inventory system- the items can have their own unique traits through metadata system. The game’s multiplayer is light-weight and has very minimal hardware requirements. With that said, server hosting is extremely optimized. The game comes with up-to-date patch notes and documentation to help with server configuration, mod creation/support, and everything in-between.

Modding

One of our priorities is mod development. We are huge fans of Feed The Beast (Minecraft Mod Pack Distributors) and similar teams. Having the freedom to be a fruit salad chef, a weapon smith, or a mercenary. That's what it's about. We are constantly encouraging users to create new mods and help us to expand what is possible with the game engine.

As a user you can install mods very easily. Simply drag mods into the mod folder and you've added a mod to your game! They work in multiplayer and singleplayer without any extra hassle. You can easily create and share them with friends.

Developer Quote

"I think every player deserves a voice and the direction of the game should be based on community feedback, and ideas. I've followed this idea since the beginning of the games development and so far it has helped the game become something I could not have ever imagined." -Seabass

https://youtu.be/1ZEwp6UALzU Much of this title feels unfinished and imbalanced in a way that will be off-putting to most players.

It look like unfinished game. Controls are weird, It will be better if game use common keybinding what we get used to in another games. Animal attack you inside house, how can I pick up axe from chest if bear kill me all the time. I need axe to cut tree and make tools. So I can't progress in game without finding axe. There can be many improvements: 1. bush can give sticks 2. there is small rock what can be picked up without tool 3. animals wont attack you at your base, or they will break walls what you need to fix, stronger walls means better defense 4. we can see animals around, right now there is no animals, until they attack you 5. setting spawn point 6. visible waypoints, right now I can save waypoints, but there is no way I can see coordinates in game. 7. animals attack you less often, when I stand still, now it will attack me all the time. I only eat to heal and fight animals in this game, it is boring.

I don't know if I'm just stupid or what, but I starved the content of this game in about 30 minutes... There was nothing else I could do, and even after searching for how to progress, I was left with nothing. Not recommended... Even if there IS more content, the fact that I played for 30 minutes and then couldn't figure out how to progress after about 25 minutes just makes the game bad.
