About Project: Mortuus Astrum Playable Teaser
Project Mortuus Astrum is a short first-person cosmic horror experience set in a decaying, labyrinthine facility. You awaken alone, disoriented, and pursued by an unseen entity.Explore claustrophobic corridors and abandoned rooms as you uncover environmental clues and solve spatial puzzles to unlock new areas. The game features a hallway-style map design focused on tension and atmosphere, with dynamic audio cues and visual storytelling.There is no combat—your only tools are observation, memory, and movement. The entity stalking you reacts to sound, forcing you to adapt your exploration strategy. The experience lasts approximately 10-15 minutes.Will you escape the facility… or become part of its forgotten history?

Interesting (but very early) proof of concept. The environments are nicely done and have quite the creepy vibe despite a ton of re-used assets. Monster behaviour needs some work though (I wish there were ways to bait or lure him away) and is pretty broken sometimes (that thing HATES the stairs with a passion) and will just stop moving if you stand in some corners, leaving you with no choice but to fail and restart if you want to beat the game. It's also a bit frustrating to start at the beginning each time you get caught. Took me about an hour to finish (and I only managed to do so after learning some of the major flaws in the pathing AI with trial and error). Overall, not a bad demo, especially since it's free, but it will require some QoL if the devs are to make it a fun full experience.
