Psi Cards is about as simple as a card game can get. I am shown cards and I have to guess what comes next, with the idea being that I am somehow testing my psychic ability. There is no big story or complicated card system here. I just make my guesses and try to build up a better run as the levels get harder. It is a very small game, but I think the basic idea works well enough when I only want something quick to play. The difficulty is what gives the simple idea a little more to it. As I move through the levels, the number of cards and the complexity increase, so I cannot just rely on the same easy guesses forever. I have to pay attention and try to remember patterns, even though there is obviously still a random element to what card comes up next. I like that the game does not spend ages teaching me how to play. I can understand it almost immediately and then just focus on trying to get further. I also like the way the game is presented. There are five different themed locations, with different backgrounds and music giving each section a slightly different feel. At first I thought this was gonna be some weird hidden gem card game… but it’s honestly more of an achievement farming simulator than an actual game 😭 You basically keep guessing cards over and over while achievements explode on your screen every few seconds. It’s kinda satisfying for like 10 minutes, especially if you like seeing your achievement count go up fast, but the gameplay gets repetitive REALLY quickly. The amount of achievements is honestly ridiculous 💀 451 achievements for a game this simple is crazy. That said, for a super cheap game, I guess it does what it’s supposed to do. Just don’t expect deep gameplay or strategy.
