About Quarres
Quarres ("squares" in Middle French) is a 2D puzzle in which your goal is to match the tiles in your board with the pattern on a sample board.
BUT THERE IS A CATCH! You cannot move only one tile at a time. Moving a tile will move either its whole row or column. Think of it as a 2D version of those popular physical cube puzzles.
PROCEDURALLY GENERATED PUZZLES. Quarres generates it's boards using a pseudorandom number generator. This allows for a giant amount of possible combinations while also letting you share with friends specific puzzles by using a seed number.

Quarres is a tile matching mobile app that's been dumped on Steam. You're presented with a grid of tiles and a picture illustrating the desired target state. You must use your finger to drag the tiles around on your iPhone screen to make them match the target image, but you only have a limited number of moves. Little to no effort was made in porting this mobile app to PC. The game displays windowed in a mobile phone 9:16 portrait aspect ratio. There's no game options to correct any of these failings. I didn't spend thousands building a gaming rig so I could pretend it's an iPhone.2 found this helpful
Before I played Quarres, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
A more-or-less acceptable puzzle concept, wrecked by one dumb decision. Your goal is to match the image on the bottom with the one on top,you do this by sliding the squares around within a fixed number of moves. Not exactly the usual slider puzzle setup, but not exactly groundbreaking. There are three difficulties: Easy: 2x2 square,4 moves. Med: 3x3 square,6 moves. Hard: 4x4 square,20 moves. I'll get a few smaller gripes out of the way, before getting to the main problem: The music is one song on loop,I've heard this old timey piano song a million times but don't know what it's called [it's the "da dum da de de da duh, da duh dum" one] I'm not sure if it even fits the game, but it gets annoying. Your click is finicky. You click & drag the squares to slide them, but sometimes you won't click just right, and the square will decide to go wherever the heck it wants...potentially wasting a move. As you progress the puzzles don't get steadily harder, they start easy, then go med...then back to easy? then to med and easy again? It's odd more than anything. Now for the BIG problem, the Lives/Timer: You have a total of 3 lives at start [I got another as I progressed] ,when you fail a level yo…
