✦ AI summary
Quatris is a free Tetris variant with an interesting two-layer mechanic that players find fun and relatively easy to pick up, though opinions on longevity vary. Common criticisms include jerky block movement, a small playfield, lack of control customization, minimal audio, and dated graphics that feel more like a browser game than a polished PC title. Some players appreciate the clever twist on the classic formula, while others find the gameplay becomes repetitive after extended play.
Quatris offers a refreshing twist on the classic arcade game Tetris. This game is simple, yet still challenging. This game is a lot of fun, and I recommend everyone to give this game a try!4 found this helpful
Fun game. It takes like 30 minutes to get used to.2 found this helpful
Quatris is a free to play, self-confessed Tetris ripoff with one gimmick, it's got two layers, so you must clear blocks from both the front and "back" lines of the game (the front layer is the orange squares, the back layer is the little blue ones). That's all there is to it. The graphics are phoned in, 2D retro pixel/minimalist "art" that falls below standards. Technical implementation is lacklustre, there isn't even a working full screen mode. This comes across more as a browser/Adobe Flash game than any serious attempt at making a PC game. While this is free, and that's noble, it might have been better if this was launched as a web game or as a mobile app so the game can find an appropriate target audience and the developer might even get paid through advertising impressions or something. This just isn't really a PC game and can't be recommended to serious gamers.2 found this helpful
Well, it's free, it's simple, and it's a clever new twist on an old idea. I do like it. But you can't customise the controls, there's not even any music, and the blocks drop one tile of height at a time, on quite a small grid, and they feel rather jerky. Most Tetris games have a greater playfield height, so falling one tile at a time is proportionally less of the total height, so it looks and feels smoother. This game's quite rough by comparison. The two main gripes are the lack of control customisation and the lack of smoothness. Suggest either making the playfield a bit higher, and maybe the game faster to keep the difficulty about the same, or let the blocks fall smoothly? If those were fixed I'd change my recommendation.1 found this helpful
Quatris cons: static screen with little or no change. difficult gameplay. gameplay becomes uninteresting after a few minutes. sucks.1 found this helpful
