✦ AI summary

Players consistently criticize Quest Rooms for broken mechanics, poor obstacle synchronization in multiplayer that makes navigation nearly impossible for non-hosts, unfair difficulty spikes with instant-kill hazards, and performance/optimization issues, alongside complaints about high pricing for the quality delivered. Some acknowledge the game has an interesting atmospheric concept and occasional good musical moments, but the execution falls short of making it enjoyable, with most feeling the core gameplay is fundamentally flawed rather than just needing polish.

This game is abysmal, and no amount of updates or reworks can fix what is this absolute disaster. The Mechanics of how this game works is inherently disastrous. On top of that I went to my settings to swap them and I could not exit and I could still move my character with my settings open so I could not close them. There is 0 chance of the devs saving this trash heap. I have no idea how this game is priced how ridiculously high as it is. Save your time and money and never look back, this game is by far the worst thing I have ever booted up to date. I have played FREE games that have more value than this abysmal disaster.

My group just finished "Chained Together in the Backrooms," a game that is so stupid and broken that it was actually fun. Quest Rooms, however, is just bad. Not fun-bad; simply bad-bad. The obstacles never seem to work right. Sometimes they kill you instantly, sometimes they hurt you, and sometimes you walk right though them. To make it even worse, they don't seem to sync correctly for all remote players, so anyone who is not the host can't even see correctly where the obstacles are. What this means is that the only thing you can really do is run blindly and hope you make it. The obstacle design is also just terrible. Swinging axes that are so close together that it's impossible to stop between them without being hit. Floors that look safe and suddenly fall away to kill you. Long, long mazes of the same obstacle over and over. Spikes that damage you even when you're nowhere near running over them. These are all not frustrating in a fun way, they're just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. These wouldn't be so bad if you respawned just before the obstacle. However, when you die, you restart at a checkpoint that's wayyy too far back. You're given 30 lives; once those run out, you have…

Quest Rooms, created by The Spiteful Games, is a cooperative puzzle experience that tries to fuse escape room logic with a more ominous, survival-leaning atmosphere. It begins with a familiar setup—players find themselves trapped in a mysterious environment with little explanation and are tasked with solving a sequence of rooms to progress—but it quickly reveals an intention to be more than a straightforward puzzle game. There is a constant undertone of danger, as if the rooms are not just challenges to overcome but tests designed with consequences, giving the experience a darker edge than typical escape room titles. The core gameplay is centered on observation and experimentation. Each room presents a collection of objects, clues, and mechanisms that must be understood and manipulated in the correct way to move forward. Some puzzles rely on logic and pattern recognition, while others lean into more abstract interactions that require players to try different approaches until something works. When the design aligns well, solving a room feels genuinely satisfying, as if you have decoded a carefully constructed system. At other times, however, the lack of clear feedback can make prog…

Game is fun and challenging until the second chapter. No point in playing when the game instakills you after 2 hits and the pattern is only recognizable to autistics with a nack for impossible frame timing.

This game is not fun. It's hard, has terrible controls, and at times is absolutely infuriating. Rooms are not optimized at all despite containing almost nothing at times. It's confusing to navigate half of the rooms and the other half feel like they either require exceptional skill of jank Unity games or breaking the game design. I despise that my friend bought this for 3 of us. But I must say it's an experience, and some of the music is an absolute bop. Go play it.
