About Railink
In Railink you take on the role of a railroad engineer. You start your job with modest funds. As you connect houses to the railroad you receive more funds, allowing you to expand your railroad. If you do your job well, you will be able to connect all inhabitants. Once all inhabitants in one area are connected, it is time to move on and face the next challenge!
The mechanics and style of Railink are simple, allowing you to get started quickly. Starting a level takes only one click. Great for casual play.
Nevertheless, the game features over 30 puzzles, ranging from smaller puzzles to larger worlds that take some serious effort to complete!
This is a game for those who just want to build, puzzle and optimize, with simple rules that can be taught in a few minutes - which the included tutorial will do for you.

A charming puzzle game with very easy to grasp core mechanics with a relaxing soundtrack to accompany the player. The tutorial does a decent job at teaching the player the goal as well as the tools to get there and the difficulty ramps up nicely. There are a couple quality of life things I would change, but these do not add or detract from the general gameplay, which is very solid -moveable camera; the game offers 4 perspectives, and sometimes (especially with 'mountain' levels) I could not get one viewpoint that did not block anything important. Additionally, zooming in or out would be nice, the earlier levels especially are small and now take up maybe 10-15% of screen space with the rest being background scenery. -remapping controls; I think it currently is a bit awkard to use with all the buttons being very far apart from each other. -clearer indication of new houses; when you connect a first set of houses, new ones appear on the map, it would be nice to have an indication where these would spawn so that you don't immediately have to erase a track because you cannot continue with it. Additionally, something like flagpoles to show where they activate on the map would be nice, s…3 found this helpful
Railink is an absolute gem of a puzzle game, offering a delightful blend of strategy and logical thinking that's sure to captivate players from the get-go. With its emphasis on single-solution puzzles and a path-building mechanic reminiscent of Rollercoaster Tycoon, Railink delivers a satisfying and addictive gameplay experience that keeps you coming back for more. As you navigate the colorful landscapes and connect remote dwellings to the ever-expanding rail network, you'll encounter increasingly complex challenges that require careful planning and creative problem-solving. The game's well-crafted difficulty curve ensures that you're consistently engaged, while the charming visuals and serene soundtrack create a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for focused thinking. One of Railink's standout features is its commitment to logical puzzles, ensuring that each challenge has only one solution – a testament to the game's thoughtful design and the developer's respect for true puzzle fans. The sense of accomplishment you feel upon finding the perfect route for your rail network is incredibly rewarding, making Railink a must-play title for anyone who loves a good brain teaser. TL;DR: a relaxing puzzle game, with the caveat that some of the rules on on placing rail pieces is not always clear or logically consistent. This is a one of the most laid back games I ever played, while still being mentally engaging. The pastel colors and light, ambient soundtrack make for an enjoyable game, especially at the end of a stressful day. So far, all but the first couple puzzles add additional inhabitants after connecting the first inhabitant, so the goals can shift within any given puzzle. Controls are simple, and the game is tiny. It boots almost instantly and runs well on even my most low-powered computer, a 4th gen i5 Dell laptop with integrated graphics. My everyday/everything-not-work-or-graphics computer is an 8th gen i9, and the performance monitor doesn't even register any noticeable resource consumption. My only complaint is that the rules for placing rail pieces don't always seem logically consistent. There seems to be a continual learning curve on how players can apply rails in any given puzzle. I am going to give Polygon Matter the benefit of the doubt here and assume that dynamic rules are an intentional part of the puzzles. Regardless, I still enjoy t…2 found this helpful
