The game may seem bare bones, but most of the features work really well (combat, crafting, resource gathering). The game keeps evolving and is updated very frequently. The dev is very active here and on discord, so if you find a bug, you can be quite sure it will be taken care of quickly. The world is not huge yet, but it is well designed and the kind of cel-shading effect gives a nice touch to the different environments already present. The game offers beautiful landscapes and well rendered peaceful creatures, but the (sometimes quite tough) enemies are here to bring some challenge. The different resources have been placed with care and should cover your crafting needs. It's worth mentioning the character creation too. The appearence customization isn't very developped yet, but some steps help you customize your character (vitality, stamina, etc.). All in all, the game is still "young", but it is evolving a lot, and everything is being added with care.5 found this helpful
Great fantasy medieval game, absolutely love the new mob AI. Really hope to see more people playing this, it's a gem of a game!4 found this helpful
I will give like for exploration and future potential. Right now there is lack of guidance for player, I did not know what to do. Crafted some stuff and started to explore surroundings, but soon enough very tough enemies can be met, they are pretty clumsy so easy to lure them away or just ignore. So overall I played game in "Walking simulator mode", explored Island and that's it, could not find any more motivation to play it . Dev need to add quest system and easy to understand crafting tree.2 found this helpful
A surprisingly good indie game. Ravensthorn brings some genuinely original ideas, and the dark fairytale atmosphere together with the world design feels very interesting and full of personality. I really enjoyed the exploration and the fact that the game manages to offer something different compared to many indie RPGs. For its price, it’s definitely worth trying. If you enjoy games with a unique atmosphere and a fantasy world built with passion, I highly recommend it.1 found this helpful
Ravensthorn is the kind of indie fantasy RPG that values atmosphere and immersion far more than flashy presentation. Developed and published by CaffeineBoosterGames, the game delivers a dark and mysterious adventure built around exploration, survival mechanics, and old-school role-playing ideas. From the opening moments, it becomes clear that this is not a fast-paced action RPG designed for instant gratification. Instead, Ravensthorn slowly draws players into a strange fantasy realm where curiosity, preparation, and patience become essential parts of the experience. While the game does struggle with rough edges and technical limitations, it manages to create a memorable identity through sheer creativity and passion. The world design is easily one of the strongest aspects of the game. Ravensthorn creates an eerie fantasy setting filled with forgotten ruins, dangerous forests, hidden caves, and isolated settlements that feel genuinely mysterious. The environments are crafted in a way that constantly encourages exploration because there is always the possibility of finding a secret path, valuable resources, or pieces of lore hidden away from the main route. The game avoids excessive …1 found this helpful
