Redd's Runaway

A good fun little game with an addicting Gameplay loop i played it on a controller and had a blast finishing it twice (Edit: about 4 times now lmao) on my way to get all of the achievements <3

[b]Redd’s Runaway is a short side-scrolling schmup-esque game with a high-energy music neatly complementing the simple gameplay. After beating the main mode, the player will get access to the harder difficulty, endless mode, and a neat boss rush.[/b] I've beaten the base mode in under one hour, and the story honestly felt to me more like a filler between the levels instead of a driving point to keep playing. But not every game must have an amazing story. This one is more of a chill-out type that you play to enjoy a brief moment of fast and simple gameplay when you have a free moment or two. The game has a vintage TV setting, which may be a small thing, but in my opinion, it really fitted into this one and gave the game a great deal of charm overall. On the opposite side, enemy projectiles vanishing after their death felt kinda weird. My guess is that it was easier for the dev to program enemies and their projectiles as a single entity, which sadly encourages the bursting of ranged enemies instead of putting effort into dodging their projectiles.
