In the exciting technotriller REDSIDE, the player will visit the Soviet side during the Cold War.
REDSIDE is a series of games related to one plot, characters, events and the universe. I present to your attention REDSIDE episode 1 - the first game in the series.
During the operation to free Soviet citizens, the GRU special forces group receives information about the existence of an international channel for the supply of chemical weapons components. Intelligence assumes that someone is preparing a terrorist attack using a chemical warfare agent "Sarin". Neither the targets of the terrorist attack, nor the executors, nor the customers are known, which means that the consequences of such an attack are unpredictable. In the context of a new round of the Cold War gaining momentum, such an attack could lead to the beginning of the Third World War. To prevent the worst scenario, the GRU uses all its capabilities and conducts a number of special operations around the world. Will it be in time?

- A twisting plot will send the player on missions to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The game is set in 1996 during the Cold War.
- More than 20 types of weapons, from pistols to grenade launchers and sniper rifles, are available to the player for combat missions. Weapons have about 10 characteristics, such as weight, size, reload speed, killing power and others. Each weapon has its own advantages and disadvantages - with one it is convenient to suppress the enemy with fire, with another it is convenient to storm the premises.
- Where firearms are useless, ammunition and extra abilities will do the job.
- In addition to brute force, the player can use stealth and tactical elements.
- Emphasis on realism (of course, within the TDS genre). Your weapons, your actions in combat, the use of cover - everything will matter.
- How long have you been hunting terrorists from a drone, riding armored vehicles, or blowing up enemy patrols? Special missions and mini-games will make your adventure even more exciting.
- Dynamic difficulty level. Regardless of what difficulty level you play, if you experience problems, the game will begin to succumb to you. On the contrary, if it is too easy to play, it will resist you more.

[h1]Great soviet-flavor top down tactical shooter.[/h1] Fun game, with a wide arsenal of soviet weapons, some stealth mechanics and on point graphics and pixelart. Some aspects of the game, like the stealth mechanics and the AI are a little rough around the edges (NPCs will shoot at walls trying to hit enemies on the other side), but the ostalgie more than compensates for that. The game has a pseudo-historical, what-if setting, that covers some cold war conflicts that never happened. I really liked this game. I will not write a full review, so I will just write the pros and cons: + interesting plot + cool mechanics and their implementation + pseudo-documentary style of narration + developer collects feedback and fixes bugs - actual bugs - sometimes stupid AI, but it also creates comical situations To sum up, the game is worth it to try to play it. Dis broken
An intriguing techno-thriller game that's definitely worth playing, though it’s not without its flaws. Starting with the positives: 1. A mature, well-crafted storyline set in an alternate modern world. It's genuinely interesting to see what happens next. 2. Engaging game mechanics: mines, drone control. 3. Solid narrative. Character lines are always on point. 4. Great level-design. I'm definitely know what to do and what to expect on the each part of map. However, the downsides are quite serious: 1. Completely inadequate shooting mechanics. The spread of any weapon is simply outrageous. Whether you hit the enemy or not is purely random, which takes away any sense of victory and forces you to lose even when you didn't make mistakes. It feels like nothing depends on you. In a shooter, the shooting is the main mechanic, and here it’s done terribly. 2. Additionally, the AI constantly shoots from outside of the visible map, making the only viable build “sniper rifle + machine gun.” You look off the edge with the sniper rifle (you still can’t hit anything with it anyway), then spray random long bursts from the machine gun. Call of Russia: Modern Spetsnaz With USSR Patches Warfare: Black Ops: Cold War: Middle East (formerly Lebanon and Syria). Honestly it feels awkward playing it. But it is very neat if you've had the opportunity to play something like Syrian Warfare. Get this on discount, it's not that technically impressive.
