About Remnants Of Eden

Remnants of Eden is an isometric sci-fi survival game set in a vengeful mechanical world haunted by memory and loss.
You play as Elias Kael, a scientist trapped in an endless cycle of grief after losing his daughter. Each procedurally generated level represents a stage of that grief — an unpredictable maze of broken technology, radiation, and hostile machines that aim to destroy everything you have built.Scavenge resources, outsmart drones, turrets, modified androids and endure the toxic air as you try to escape a vicious world meant to destroy every inch of your soul. Find weapons, choose wisely as a human, since you’re vulnerable to radiation, unfamiliar with weapons, but resourceful, since you can interact with everything around you.As a machine, you’re immune to hazards but slowly poisoned by your own existence. Much better with weapons, but unable to reach that far. Every escape leads you back to the start — a looping nightmare where the world changes, but the pain remains.Survive long enough, and the fragments of a forgotten soul begin to surface — not to be saved, but to be understood.
What will you sacrifice to remember what was lost?

Give it a try! If You are looking for a fun isometric shooter, give it a Go! Bought it a while ago, haven't had the chance to play it that much to be honest but overall I had fun. Update * After further playing and spending more time with the game, here is what I missed :)) In my first few playthoughs I missed the Tutorial area and I played the game mostly as I figured it out, I thought it was designed this way and it did feel quite hard in certain parts... Well... Some times You need to "Belești" ochii as my Mum say. :)) In the Main Menu there is a section called Tutorial, I cried on the inside a while when I saw it :)) The game flow and everything that felt a little unfair well, kinda works and it is a lot more easier. The cooldown with the hot swap for weapons does indeed lead to some more active gameplay of having to run away from enemies, which was infuriating to be frank with Yall :)) The Perma-Death Option is a good addition but I think it should be more of a separate "game-mode" instead of a option in the settings menu, don't know if that makes sense? The bug with the bullets going to world position was on my part but also on the part of the engine being...well...…

It's always good to see indie games being put out, especially considering the disgusting mess that we see in the AAA "industry". That doesn't mean indie games get a pass on quality or gameplay mechanics. Remnants of Eden has decent graphics, responsive controls, and the movement and action feel good and weighty, without being bogged down and animation-locked. Guns provide excellent feedback and (generally) feel good to shoot, and hit registration is obvious. Instead of requiring you to track ammo, the game has heat buildup, with each weapon having a different threshold or rate of increase. Once you hit the cap, you're stuck with a useless weapon and can't do much of anything until the weapon is fully cooled. I haven't played long enough to pick up another weapon, so I don't know if you can swap to another weapon when one is overheated. Regardless, it's not a particularly generous threshold, especially considering the hordes of enemies the game can throw at you thanks to Gauntlet-style generators. Even if the enemies die in one hit, you're still stuck with trying to take out the generator with a very miserly heat buildup, meaning you'll likely be standing in one spot for a while, t…
