Rhythm Journey is a story based, hardcore 2-buttons rhythm game.

1. Play real drum rhythms.
Rhythm Journey is centered around each track’s drum beat. Specifically, the game play focuses on the drum’s kick and snare, which can be described as the ‘boom’ sound and the ‘pat’ sound. Rhythm Journey also contains a variety of genres, rhythms, beats, and techniques (pop, rock, funk, Bossa nova, swing, shuffle, 8-beat, 16-beat, 4/4 beat, 3/4 beat, syncopation, fill-in, etc.) that are used in real music, so you feel as if you’re actually playing the drums.
2. Listen to each character’s story through their song’s lyrics and vocals.
Rhythm Journey is a rhythm game with a story. Centered around your main adventure, where you are saving the world of sound by passing the rhythm paths, each song contains various tales about various emotions in an omnibus format. Listen to stories that are sometimes warm, sometimes sad, sometimes about life, and sometimes even philosophical through song lyrics and character vocals.
3. The controls are easy to learn, but hard to master.
Rhythm Journey is a game played with only two buttons, but it's high difficulty makes it so you have to almost play perfectly to get to the end of each song. In addition, you have to respond to various patterns, such as changing your speed and direction.
However, assist options such as the ability to automatically go through each track can help you make it through the game. As long as you don’t give up and stay determined, you will always be able to make progress until your hard work pays off and you finally beat the level.

Rhythm Journey has 32 tracks (27 with lyrics and vocals, 5 instrumentals), with each track containing 5 stages for a total of 160 stages to play. You can also test your mastery of the game by speeding up each track.

The rhythm game idea itself is workable, and has potential. I think there are even potentially more interesting things to do with the 4 different walls in some levels, and adapting more interesting controls to them. On the other hand, many parts added on top of the basic rhythm game idea work very badly. The game would literally be better without any plot, and most songs would be better without the lyrics, which are frequently in broken English. It would be better if the lyrics were in a different language. Songs can still be good without lyrics one can't understand, but it's very hard for songs to be good when you can tell the lyrics are broken.

this game is really difficult but when you get the hang of it, its a real challenge thats worth it, i only went for the clear and excellent achievement for the main and collab track achievement thought was worth the time i put into it
rhythm journey is great, let me start this off with that. i had fun, and im confident ill continue to have fun, but there are issues, and i would like to point them out even if i enjoy the game. a lot of the review is going to be opinionated, but thats how reviews work, also no checklist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because that drains the life out of feedback, the purpose of a review. so far, i have beaten and almost perfected all of the main story, and i can say that i enjoy how much effort was put into a passion project like this. some people might find the story cringe or lame or incoherent, but i enjoy the charm that each character has, and i appreciate the fact that the devs tried their best to translate the game into english. the story might not be compelling, but the message is nice and its enough to keep the game flowing. not everything has to bleed with perfection and attention to detail like rhythm doctor. the songs themselves are nice. again not everyone would like them, the voice being synthetic puts a lot of people off, and stressed syllables in the wrong spot dont help. but personally i think theyre cute, they tell their own short stories nicely, and it does what it needs to for the p…
