Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break

As usual the most difficult games to review are the ones that come close but then, well, kinda roll off the edge when they really shouldn't. Such is the case for Rock of Ages 3, the third in a series of comical, almost Terry Gilliam-esque historical satires with mildly surrealist comedy themes wrapped around, well, a basic rolling ball physics game. As always the concept of the game is simple. Roll a big boulder (or ball of sheep, or whatever comedy spin each level gives you) down the path, avoid obstacles and hit the end target as fast as you can. The game also features multiplayer modes and a somewhat under-used level designer that allows community made maps, but this didn't get that much engagement despite this being close to an "A" (but definitely not AAA) tier game in terms of budget and marketing. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. A rock solid experience, and another great entry to the series. Personally I did detect a slight but noticable vibe change with the look and humour, but It was still a very enjoyable time. I had a blast with the new units and boulders, I quite enjoyed the bosses, and I actually had a great time with some of the races and the Humpty Dumpty levels. This is definitely a must play for fans of the previous two games, and just for anyone in general.

Really fun and unique, but with many stupid, avoidable bugs. The bugs that annoyed me the most: -Sometimes you get completely stuck in the environment. -Certain boulders cannot jump from the clouds. -When the Wheel of Pain is being biuld, the enemy cant destroy it. -In the Pacific Ocean level, when you have to enter Moby ♥♥♥♥'s mouth, if you go deep enough inside and fall off after the swallowing sound plays, the music stops, you spawn on the platform, and Moby ♥♥♥♥ disappears. I had to redo this level multiple times because it kept happening. These and other persistent bugs make the gameplay a headache. It's also very unbalanced; most defenses and boulders are completely useless.

The game is fun for the first few times you play with a friend and when doing the campaign, but it's quite short and overall the game is very very very unbalanced to the point of using the same defences and boulders over and over.

The worst rock of ages game i played the multi rock selection doesent work i dont get any towers for playing online only one player gets the reward while the other one is stuck with the basic rock over all dont recommend buying

This game has a gameplay and humor style that's hard to find anywhere else. If you can get it on sale, you won't be dissapointed. It does lack in the replayability category, and the editor, while there, is very rudimentary and community maps are lacking.
