A word sleuth puzzle game. Great for the brain! Relaxing too! Recommend!13 found this helpful
5/10 Basic Word Search trying to be artsy. What is it: A Word Search game, with randomly generated puzzles of varying sizes, and parametric curves as the reward for finishing each level. Word Search in itself is a basic game, something good for children to learn new words, spelling, observation skills... So there isn't much to demand of this type of game, yet it felt disappointing. First, the words to search are too obscure, short 3-4 letter words like cam, dui, swy, rax, firk, and then some longer words of equal obscurity, like haleru, nepits, skellochs, rhinoliths, which, as far as my internet searches turned up, are probably real words, but either archaic, very technical, foreign, proper names, or all of these. Which isn't necessarily bad, but then I would really have liked to have a definition for them. Second, the campaign mode is timed. For almost all of the levels that wasn't an issue for me, but I have an innate skill for noticing words, and a lot of practice with wordsearch games, and I still had to restart a handful of levels, because at some point you get stuck looking for 8 3-letter words in a 15x15 grid. Which led to my third dislike, even in campai…6 found this helpful
In principle, I like the concept of randomized/endless levels, but this game shows why most either don't bother, or only unlock such a mode after the premade levels are completed. Not only is every level essentially the same (other than the gradually increasing grid size), the randomized "words" are generally just gibberish and also too short. Looking for combinations like "QUG", "UMN" or "SHOR" hundreds of times feels completely pointless and unfun.1 found this helpful
I'm not sure why the description calls this a crossword, because it isn't. Overall, this is a decent word search game, but it has some quirks, and I would definitely wait for a sale or a good bundle. The main problem here is the word selection. Some words are fine, but a lot of the words I was looking for were words I'd never seen in my entire life, or maybe they were abbreviations or acronyms, and I wasn't convinced some of them were English. For longer words this isn't so bad but I got quite a few three letter words, especially on the relaxed levels, which made them a lot harder to find. There's also a weird inconsistency in the way finding words works. On most levels, letters will lose the border around them after you find the word that uses them, and a letter that's used in two words will be a different color to indicate that you'll still need to pay attention to it once that border is gone. I really like this way of doing it, because it means you just have to focus on letters with borders and it really speeds up the finding process. However, sometimes this just... isn't true? A few times I found myself stuck, only to realize I needed to use a letter twice even though it wasn'…
The game starts in windows, but then you soon find out that fullHD is the highest resolution... The fact that this game is not expensive is the reason I can not give too much critique on this game. Though I would have liked to see a 3640x2160 resolution for my monitor. But that is not the worst, what bothers me more was I was under the impression that his was a chill puzzle game, but every level it timed and you soon find yourself in a hurry to find all the words.. the music that goes with this game is not in anyway enbelishing the puzzel chillness one would like to get when levels are timed, and untill 12 levels are completed the relaxed mode is unlocked.... It's a bit of a hit and miss this game, I reall wanna support indy game makers and such ,but think about people, they want a simple game to chill out and wast some time without hassle, that is the reason many cheaper games fail to be a solid experience imo. ron
It's a classic crossword puzzle that grows in size and challenge over time.
