Very cool concept and a fair price. This is ideally a mobile game, I couldn't see myself playing this on PC at length. If the developer wants to improve the game, I would personally work on the assets; they seem very generic and without much character, though I feel that is due to the fact the game is designed for mobile phone screens. Overall, pretty decent, definitely dragged up a few ratings by the core concept of rotating the cube and avoiding the nasty stuff. Nilesy4 found this helpful
Review of "Rubicon: Cubindom": An Exquisite Tapestry of Cubic Enigma
Within the labyrinthine tapestry of intellectual pursuits, where the harmonies of logic meld with the kaleidoscope of human imagination, "Rubicon: Cubindom" emerges as a mesmerizing testament to the noble art of problem-solving. Steeped in a symphony of colors and precise geometrical forms, this game invites players to traverse the enigmatic realms of the Rubik's Cube, traversing the delicate divide between order and chaos with metaphysical grace. "Cubindom" presents itself as more than a mere game; it is an ode to the vibrant mechanics of thought itself, a sonnet composed in elegant rotations and intricate permutations. From the very moment one gazes upon its polished surfaces, adorned with a tapestry of reds, blues, and greens reminiscent of a vivid dreamscape, the allure of the puzzle becomes undeniable. The cube, unyielding yet pregnant with possibility, promises to unlock secrets hidden within its very design. Yet, "Rubicon: Cubindom" is more than a mere cerebral exercise. It exudes an undeniable charm—a magnetic pull that tugs at the heartstrings of players, beckoning them to surrender to the al…3 found this helpful
tl;dr If you are looking for some kind of puzzle with simple yet unordinary concept, then this one is for you. Basically it says all by itself: a rubic-cube-type of puzzle, where instead of matching colors or whatever on every side you complete a certain objective, such as getting knight to a tower in one piece or matching walls. I'm not a type of person, who likes playing rubics, I find it kindof boring. But this game achieves to give what I needed: a proper challenge. Because with ordinary rubics you can rotate them in any direction and position you want and goal is always the same: match colors/forms/etc. Here not only you have (yet) 2 types of different puzzles, but you also have enemies (with different mechanics), lifes and limits for rotations, which are casual challenges basically from every other puzzle-game in the existance, but because it has a rubic gameplay mechanic, it gives a flavour to itself, which makes this game much more interesting. UI might be not the strongest part of it (gives the "mobile games" vibes), but hey, for 3 euros you get a cool gameplay, which is what you should stay for. Overall, I recommend it for everyone, who is interested in puzzle games. I…1 found this helpful
Rubicon is a puzzle game built around a set of levels that take place in a fully three-dimensional space. According to the story, a powerful wizard has turned the entire world into rotating cubes that follow the rules of a Rubik’s Cube. Now it’s up to you and your hero to “untangle” these cubes and restore the kingdom. At first, I thought the game would simply be a classic Rubik’s Cube wrapped in fantasy visuals and effects. However, it quickly becomes clear that the cube itself is only a foundation - mainly the idea of rotating faces. The core gameplay is about smartly rotating the level to move your character to the right position, while avoiding a fairly wide variety of enemies that also shift around the map as the faces turn. To help with this, the game offers a pool of magical abilities that can make solving puzzles easier and help you avoid dangerous encounters. This adds a nice twist to the gameplay and gives the player more agency, making the whole experience feel more dynamic and charming. On top of that, Rubicon introduces extra challenge conditions, such as reaching the goal within a limited number of rotations or without taking any damage, which keeps the puzzl…
A hidden gem I've never finished a Rubick's cube in my life but still decided to try out this relatively unknown game and was not disappointed. This is a fresh take on a classic game, much like Balatro and all the modern chess-likes (Shotgun King, Who wears the crown, 5d Chess etc.). There are essentially three different chapters, each one offering surprisingly engaging and very creative puzzles on ever increasing cube sizes: 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4. Most puzzles consist of a tower occupying a square, a knight and different obstacles and enemies like "dark" knights and different types of cannons. You will usually be required to bring the knight adjacent to the tower. To this end you can rotate the cube or use different special ability cards but keep in mind you only have limited health and will take damage every time your knight ends up within the targeting range of an enemy. Take three damage and the puzzle is over. If you make it alive to the spot near the tower you've completed the puzzle but you also get bonus stars for completing it within the optimal number of turns (displayed at the beginning of the puzzle) or for not losing any health. And that's it. It's a simple recipe but…
