About Rue

Concept

Players are in love with The Rose. Make the right decisions, to beat the competition!

In Rue, one player has The Rose in front of them, while the other players are trying to take it back.

Cards can be used to move The Rose around, allow you to grab it, or plainly steal it from others. All players play their card at the same time, making the right decisions is the key to victory.

The game is played in rounds that last a couple of minutes each. Once a player has won ~3 rounds, they are the winner.

Rue is a free and open source Early Access card game presented in first person 3D perspective. Each player has a hand of cards, and there's a giant "Rose" token which one player can possess (and the aim of the game is to hold the Rose at the end of the game). Gameplay consists of playing cards which cause the Rose to move between players. It's a novel concept for a card game and it's somewhat workable (although I feel it might go better as a drinking game for people or something instead of as a video game). At the time of this review the game is in very very Early Access and it shows. Resolution is locked and there's no apparent working fullscreen mode, or any graphics tweaks at all. The art is somewhat lacking, with an MS-Paint/"I just got a Wacom tablet and I don't know how to use it" style. It doesn't seem like there's much yet in terms of this being a multiplayer game. It feels like this might have launched into Early Access a bit too early. The current technical and other deficiencies prevent me from recommending it. The game is completely free (and open source!). Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game av…

Seems like a kid tried making a card game, not really worth playing since its super simple, and the font used is terrible to read. Gameplay trailer is all you really need to watch in order to get your fill of the game, Would be cool if the font was easier to read, if coop was available or even couch coop. ill give an A for effort though,
