Runa's School Story is a relaxing puzzle game with jigsaw and hidden object mechanics combined with visual novel elements that players find charming and suitable for casual play sessions. The game is praised for its cute character design, pleasant artwork, calm atmosphere, and straightforward but occasionally clever puzzles that don't frustrate, though some note the story is linear and uncomplicated without much replay value or challenge.
It’s pretty obvious from the Store page’s screenshots that Runa's School Story isn’t the greatest title ever, yet I had fun playing the game, enough even to go through it twice when there was no apparent reason to do so (all the achievements can be unlocked in one playthrough and there are no alternate endings). It’s the kind of game you want to play when you have around 45 minutes to spare and are in the mood for an uncomplicated title that doesn’t challenge your logic or reactions. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1673262878 The story is linear and pretty straightforward, your next move being quite obvious most of the times, but there were a couple of not-so-obvious riddles to solve too. Never knew that I'll come across this type of puzzle game, especially when the storefront is filled with lazily cheap ones. Runa's School Story is something that I pick out randomly since I actually wanted to try out new things. I wasn't disappointed by it, intrigued is the best way to put it. Runa's rendered model is another thing that I wasn't expecting since she look so cute! Really love her expression that add context to her character. You could also make her follow your mouse cursor which is sorta unnoticeable as she doesn't really tilt her head. I think I talked a lot about Runa and not much about the gameplay. Well? Its those jigsaw and hidden object with a visual novel throw in. The puzzles aren't really difficult. I could let my daughter play it and might complete it faster than me. There are some that you must put your mind into, although, like I said before. Nothing too challenging. All you have to do is sit back and take your time with it. Even if it seem good, there are some flaws that I must address. Firstly, is that there is no pause or menu that allow you to change setting like resolution, sound and save. Yes, it does show up when you start up the game but rather …3 found this helpful
That's a nice game with simple yet amusing gameplay. Puzzles aren't difficult at all but they're not annoying neither. Beautiful backgrounds, characters and items. Calm BGM fits the shools atmosphere well. It took me a bit more than 1 hour to complete the game and I certainly advise you to play Runa's School Story!1 found this helpful
