✦ AI summary

Sabbat of the Witch is a visual novel that deeply divides players along genre expectations. Fans of slice-of-life moege praise its well-written heroines (particularly Nene), atmospheric soundtrack, and strong production values, while story-focused players criticize it for prioritizing fan service and sexual content over meaningful plot, with several finding the sexual scenarios involving childlike character designs objectionable. Opinion on whether it's worth purchasing depends entirely on whether you seek character-driven moeges or plot-driven narratives.

the absolute pinnacle in yuzuslop moege, genuinely one of the best SOL vns I've read with so many well written heroines (Nene my beloved). The OST still lingers in my head till this day and I often find myself humming Hare-Hare Kibun while doing beneign chores. The Subahibi fans will be sure to enjoy the desk reference too (if you know, you know) ...

"Vile, degenerate filth — refunded in less than 2 hours" I refunded Sabbat of the Witch in less than 2 hours because I couldn't stomach the utterly repulsive direction it was taking. I came into this expecting a wholesome, pure romance, but within the very first hour, I was forced to watch a childlike character humping a desk. The competent artwork and production values are nothing more than a cheap, deceptive mask slapped over a talentless, bankrupt script. The writers are clearly too incompetent to craft a real story, choosing instead to rely on disgusting pornography, gratuitous fan service, and trashy, shameless crutches to sell copies to an uncritical audience. What makes this game truly vile is how aggressively this sickening fan service targets childlike character designs. It is cowardly and pathetic for the developers to hide behind a worthless "all characters depicted are 18+" disclaimer just to peddle predatory garbage—and frankly insane that anyone online has the audacity to market this as a "cute, romantic visual novel." I didn't care enough to stick around to see if the supernatural plot had a single drop of substance; the immediate, overwhelming stench of degenerate…

Yuzuges just aren't for me I guess (this was recommended by a VN server on Discord). I am a story-first, plot-focused reader. Yuzusoft-style moeges seems to drop plot in favor of cute girls (having lots of sex) and wish fulfillment for the reader. Four of these routes were weird collections of SoL sequences and a lot of subplots that often did not connect to each other; the rest was bad h-scenes. The biggest offenders for me were Wakana's and Tsumugi's routes.
MC's forced sexual advances on Wakana left a bad taste in my mouth, and Tsumugi's whole reason for becoming a witch was so silly that I couldn't take her story seriously.
The only route honestly worth talking about is Nene's. There was actually a bit of a story there, but it was only a minor part of the route. The writer briefly introduced some decent writing and story twists only to quickly resolve them and get back to the usual sex scene + moege SoL formula after that. And, if I'm being honest, other VNs like
Steins; Gate and Muv Luv worked the time travel/memory loss issue much better
. If you're into a traditional moe VN, this will probably satisfy you, but it's definitely…
