About Sable's Grimoire

When Sable is accepted into Amadronia Magic Academy, he believes that his dream of becoming a world-renowned magic researcher is finally within his grasp. As one of the few pure-blooded humans capable of using magic, Sable is hopeful that he’ll find common ground with the demi-human population at the school, and that the next few years of his life will be as productive as they are enlightening.

Unfortunately for Sable, his first day at Amadronia quickly proves to him that this will not be the case. The students in his class are unruly, there’s a pyromaniac dragon girl running around, his "teacher" has no interest in teaching, the principal wilfully breaks academy rules, and it seems like everywhere he turns, Sable finds one more reason to doubt Amadronia's proud legacy.

Will Sable manage to survive at this clearly dysfunctional academy? Or will he, like so many others, leave Amadronia feeling utterly disillusioned?

Beautiful game, beautiful story, beuatiful characters. There is no other visual novel that has topped this for me, and I've played quite a few. Drakan is BEST girl, and I will suplex anyone who says otherwise.

My first VN in a year and a half. Didn't read for a while, so I wasn't sure what to expect going in. And honestly? I still don't fully know how I feel about it. But yes — I recommend it. There's no doubt in my mind when saying that. Just don't go in expecting some life-changing experience. There are 6 routes in the game. I finished 3, scraped the surface of a 4th, then called it quits out of boredom. The only route I genuinely enjoyed was my first one. I'm a simple guy when it comes to VNs with different heroines. Give me decent writing and some wholesome fan-service, and I'm happy. My first route (Tix) delivered exactly that. She was the character I liked most in the main route, so I chased her, and it paid off. Decent writing, wholesome fan-service ending, "they lived happily ever after" type — just how I like it. That alone made the purchase worth it. Then I did Eris's route. The writing here was probably the best and most entertaining out of the bunch, but the latter stages and the ending left me cold. After that I briefly tried Rei and Eth but just couldn't get into either of them, so I moved on to the only other girl that caught my eye — Jorou. Finished her route, but the …

I got this game a few months after came out on a whim really, wasn't too sure about it from the description, but there was a sale so I though "well, why not?" and loved every minute of the game. The story and characters are well done and the music just caps it off, (something A Dragon's Treasure really took up a notch). \

An endearing protagonist at a magic school with a very varied cast.
