About Sandwich Sim
A game where you play as a slightly confused bear trying to assemble the ultimate meal no matter who tries to get in your way. Relax and go fishing, visit the grocery store, escape shadowy agents, and more on your way to achieve enlightenment via sandwich.
Sandwich Sim is primarily a first person game whose main mechanic is moving and manipulating your hands to grab, move, and release items using your mouse.
The game features full voice acting and subtitles, and a compelling and captivating story.
This game was developed by a team of UCI students and graduates in 2024. The in game computer also contains a playable version of Sugar Bear which was developed by many of the same students for a game jam in 2023.

My groceries started floating 😭 what do I do I can’t get them The game is good but u just softlocked myself I think edit: I tried redoing the game and everything was fun and easy up until I was taking the basket to the house, I kept dropping it without doing anything, kept getting it pushed by the traffic, and it started floating again. I don't know how people complete this game.
This is yet another student project, one of literally thousands self-published on Steam Direct. It's from UCI. Student projects might look better than amateur shovelware, but they aren't real games. This is just a glorified homework assignment. It lacks the depth and value you get from professionally developed product because it was made for a grade, not for players. Schools, colleges and universities shouldn't be using Steam to show off student projects. It might be fine for the school's marketing, but it clutters the Steam store with pollution... we have to sort past all these short student tech demos just so we can find real, full games from professional developers. This is a case of a game dev college putting its own interests before the interests of gamers. The students made a very poor tech demo where you take on the role of a bear and you have to break into stores and eventually make a sandwich so you can chill out and relax. This is a terrible idea for a game, implemented terribly. The graphics aren't great, inconsistent, mismatched low poly game assets and hideously lazy textures. Very low quality, I do see potential. Do play it, I did get bored fast but. Note for Dev: keep making games!
One of the jankiest control schemes I've ever used. Of course, that's what makes it enjoyable. Also was really fun when the basket of ingredients for the sandwich bugged out and a couple fell out on the highway. Was really fun walking through traffic to pick up a tomato and a head of lettuce.
