About Sayonara Umihara Kawase

Note!: This is Sayonara Umihara Kawase, one game in the Umihara Kawase Trilogy. It is based on the PS Vita version of the game. Below is a description of the entire trilogy.
Easy to play, difficult to master, the Umihara Kawase Trilogy is a collection of three physics-based puzzle/platformer games with over 20 years of gaming history. Developed by the creators of the original game (Kiyoshi Sakai and Toshinobu Kondo), this cult classic was a Japanese indie smash hit!
Umihara Kawase is the name of our backpacking, Japanese, sushi chef heroine armed with a fishing rod, elastic fishing line, and a fishing hook. Face fish-like enemies, conveyor belts, spikes, watery pits, time travel and more. Collect items, and find your way to the end of each level. The deeper into this dream-like world that you venture, the more challenging the solutions and the greater the time pressure becomes. Along the way, look out for shortcuts and secret exits, and unlock bonus levels.
The elasticity of Umihara’s fishing line sets the Umihara Kawase Trilogy apart from other games, giving unprecedented levels of mobility and discovery. Tightening the line or giving lots of slack can be the difference between success or failure. The elastic nature of the fishing line allows the player to stretch down to otherwise unreachable areas or be catapulted upwards.

Sayonara Umihara Kawase is a challenging fishing-hook platformer that offers accessibility features like level selection and difficulty tiers for various skill levels, alongside quality-of-life additions like a music player and walkthrough tips. However, players report that the stages are significantly harder than previous entries in the series, with some spending hours on single levels, and control issues like unreliable diagonal hook inputs can compound the frustration, making it primarily recommended for veterans of the franchise rather than newcomers.
umihara kawase somehow does more fishing than mario does plumbing.
this is yet another umihara Kawase game , if i had to list the pros , it would go like this ; - it has a music player - it has a gallery - its 3d (still sidescroller) - it has less difficulty for those who are trying to get further , because you just have to click the level you want to play and you can , without having to complete every other level before ,every time. - harder levels for those looking for a challenge - it has walkthrough tips if you ever feel stuck - it can run on a potato , pretty much like the other games in the series. Now , onto thew cons , this might just be me , but - ive noticed it is significantly harder to do diagonal hooks in this game , half the time i try itll be a sideways or top hook, probably requiring me to hold the dpad for it to work. Overall , this is a solid game if you like a good exploration sidescroller with parkour and physics. challenging game. 8.2/10
good kusoge. crab 2 is the hardest boss in gaming until you realize his claws don't exist
In Sayonara Umihara Kawase, there are no lives/game overs, so to compensate for a general loss in difficulty, they made the stages WAY harder. You can try as many times as you like to complete a troublesome stage, free of the stress of potentially losing progress like you would in the original Umihara Kawase, or Umihara Kawase Shun, but the stages are so much harder that I couldn't possibly recommend this game to the average person. If you have played other Umihara Kawase games, I highly recommend this one, but if you haven't, just know that I spent four hours on one stage right before I wrote this. I finally beat it, but I think I'm traumatized.
Peak.
