Serious Sam Fusion 2017 integration - receive free updates for this game through the central hub. Oh, and play cross-platform with players of the "flat" version to find out what's the ultimate combo: hi-tech motion controllers or good old keyboard & mouse
Moves like Jagger - Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter features a built-in (blink) teleportation system that allows you to move quickly and avoid charging enemies with the help of Sam's translocator device. You can tweak and adjust the way you move through VR space to best suit your playing style by using our own Serious Warp (TM) locomotion. Feeling much more hardcore than that? Use the smooth trackpad/analog stick movement and go full locomotion.
Not another single-weapon game – Keyboards are for typing, so keep your fingers off. Grab a weapon, one for each hand, and boost your stopping power with Sam's new toys: Sniper Rifle, Flamethrower and Chainsaw! Use different weapon combinations or dual-wield two of the same to defeat Mental or use your arsenal in a deathmatch against "flat peasants".
Old-school, but nice and shiny – Visit South America, ancient Mesopotamia and Medieval Europe, uncover over 130 hidden secrets and lose yourself in one of the most impressive VR experiences yet, all powered by the latest Serious Engine 2017.
Steam Workshop Support - where you will be able to submit your content creation or download new player-created modifications.
Full blast singleplayer action – Go back through time and use all of the available firepower to go head to head against five new enemies and three nasty bosses. Choose between five difficulty settings that can satisfy everyone - a gentle flower looking for some casual fun or a death machine ready to spread mayhem in virtual reality.
Pick your poison - Plunge into chaotic 16-player versus multiplayer modes, some unique and others based on campaign levels, or enjoy the classic co-op action in a 12-level cooperative campaign mode featuring several difficulty settings, increased enemy strength (based on player count), friendly fire/infinite ammo options, and much more. Play the entire co-op campaign in classic 80's arcade style with limited lives.
FREE DLC - SSVR: The Second Encounter includes the DLC Legend of the Beast, available for free with the VR version.
\
Beast Hunt and Team Beast Hunt - Compete against other players, or teams in Team Beast Hunt, hunting down various enemies to see who can get the best score at the end of each campaign level!

Compared to the flat screen version the gunplay feels much less punchy, you do not hold the guns in your hands, they are your hands which on one side allows you to dual wield almost everything, on the other hand the guns feel weightless and less satisfying to use, but still satisfying enough to make it worth playing in VR if that is the way you prefer to play games. The game is also much easier than flat screen version as you can shoot the guns faster and you have lasers coming out of some guns so the aiming is really simple making you a bit OP, but I did not dislike this as OP Sam is actually pretty cool, but if you want some challenge choose higher difficulty especially if you are comfortable with VR controls. So as far as VR vs flat screen version, I think the flat screen is a bit better and you can tell that that is the way it was originally designed to be played, but the VR port is still decent and if you prefer games in VR you will probably like it. Regarding Serious Sam The Second Encounter in general, I think it is slightly worse than the First Encounter. The game starts strong, has some funny jokes hidden in the levels here and there, the level design is playful and int…
What can I say, it's Serious Sam in VR. It's pretty much the same as the regular HD TSE, the only difference is the control scheme. There really isn't anything that makes this a must-play in VR, but it was a novel way to experience the classic, in spite of some issues. This review is more issues than anything, partly because this is more about how the game translates from flat to VR rather than Serious Sam: TSE itself. For a review of the game itself, I'll be sure to post a link here when I get around to writing one. The gameplay's both harder and easier in certain aspects, for example how it's harder to keep track of your surroundings, but significantly easier to dish out damage with the uncapped fire rate on weapons and the ability to dual wield almost anything. It makes for a slightly spiced up experience in a good way. It's a shame you can't dual-wield the Sniper Rifles, though using the other hand's trigger to help aim is a neat gimmick, even if it's ultimately easier to one-hand it. Some level design has been heavily simplified, presumably to help prevent nausea or discomfort in VR. The controls are a bit crap, weapon select is finicky and imprecise, but once you get…
for some reason when i start this game it's starting to completely restart my pc and idk what that's about, when i first bought the game it was perfectly fine for a few nights and then started messing up, such as freezing the pc and rebooting the pc, this is the only game on steam that does this for me, i love this game but i don't get why it's doing this
bEST GAME EVER THE vr IS AWESOME!
Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter is a full-throttle virtual reality shooter that embraces the series’ old-school roots and amplifies them through immersive, physical gameplay. Developed by Croteam VR and published by Devolver Digital alongside Croteam, this VR adaptation faithfully recreates the content and spirit of the original Serious Sam: The Second Encounter while reworking its systems to function comfortably and effectively in virtual reality. Rather than toning down its chaos to accommodate VR, the game doubles down on sheer intensity, delivering an experience that feels both nostalgic and freshly invigorating. The campaign drops players into a globe-trotting barrage of oversized arenas and enemy swarms, where survival hinges on constant movement, spatial awareness, and smart weapon usage. Enemies flood the battlefield in large numbers, attacking from every direction with little mercy, and VR places the player squarely in the center of that storm. The sense of scale is immediately striking, as towering monsters and charging hordes feel far more threatening when they loom over you at full size. Combat becomes a physical exercise, requiring players to turn, strafe, and re…
