About Siege the Day

Siege the Day is a tactical real-time combat castle builder game where you have to build, fortify and even decorate your very own castle. Engage in epic battles against other players online using siege structures you deployed and an array of special attacks, magic spells, and tactics at your disposal. Manage your castle's defenses and upgrades, however resources are limited, so be sure to spend them wisely in order to build your ultimate impenetrable masterpiece.

Features:
  • Complete castle building freedom! Construct walls, army barracks, defense towers, special buildings, etc in any which way you want.
  • Choose between a vast range of different siege and military equipment for your castle. Do you want to attack with ice canons? Or with fire catapults? Or maybe you'd prefer to spend some gold upgrading your archers? It's entirely up to you which path to victory you choose.
  • Take control of your castle's offensive and defensive structures. Use catapults and cannons to attack your opponent and destroy their most vulnerable structures, disrupting their ammo, gold, or even military supplies. Take heed as they will try to do the same to you!
  • Use tactics like destroying walls and gates, allowing your army to invade your enemy's castle!
  • Enjoy the physics-based destruction!

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the castle-building mechanics and the recent quality-of-life improvements like bot opponents and weapon reveals, with some enjoying the strategic depth and nostalgic appeal reminiscent of classic board games. However, common complaints center on performance issues, awkward controls, below-average graphics that feel unpolished, and a grind that some find tedious, with a few players simply finding the overall execution and gameplay not engaging enough.

1.0 release added some necessary things, but took a while. Two of the more significant changes, after 2 minutes quick play generates a bot for you to play against and after the full 6 phases happens all enemy weapons are revealed. Both solid quality of life updates. A little grindy, but fun to build and tweak your castle design. Enjoyable game-play,

Back in the 80's me and a friend of mine played an old board game called "Crossbows & Catapults" (look it up) We'd set up our forts along with our GI Joe action figures and have a lot of fun shooting them down. I've been hoping for a video game version of the old game for a long time and this is the closest we've come so far. I've only played skirmishes for XP but really enjoy the game. I think some people were disappointed that there's no local game play but part of the strategy is using decorations to obscure your resources from the enemy's view; forcing them to spend more time in camera mode, spying on your area, than manning their weapons. The only thing I would like to see added are multiple AI difficulty options. The AI ramps up their efforts as you gain experience but, so far, has been pretty easy - Higher (optional) difficulties offering larger rewards would be a great addition.

The concept of this game was very promising, but its performance was an instant disappointment. The controls are awful, the graphics just below average, and the execution makes it look like its still in a alpha development stage. Even though I got it on a huge sale, this game can not be recommended in any way.
