Lucky me gets to write the first review for yet another GameMaker Studio asset/template flip. Skull Bullets is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, Neki4 Electronics. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio marketplace, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else's work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception (just look at their other games on Steam). It's nothing but a cash grab. This time they've ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro pixel platformer/shooter and slapped some procgen elements on it. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games. Asset flips and other "Fake games" (as Valve calls them) are harmful to the industry, because they pollute the marketplace and reduce the visibility and exposure needed by genuine indie developers. This is not a game, and anyone who tells you otherwise deserves a skull in their bullet. It took me all of 6 minutes to be absolutely bored with it. If you receive this for free, make sure you remove it from your account before you even install or play it.2 found this helpful
