Sluggerpunk

"Sluggerpunk" is an appalling ripoff of Poncle's copyrighted Vampire Survivors (at this point in time no legal action has been taken). The only difference here apart from significantly worse gameplay and progression is a mild sports theme... that doesn't fit at all, so it's no wonder this was widely avoided by everyone on Steam. Like Vampire Survivors (because this is such a blatant ripoff), all you do is wander around/kite mobs while your autobattler skills kill them over time. That's it. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. This was a really fun game! I enjoyed hitting balls!
