It's a poorly made Snake game and Slither copy. While the Arcade mode tries to carry the game, even that seems weird somehow. Fight mode is pointless because you don't have friends anyways and the adventure mode puts you right to sleep with pointless enemies and boring maps.

Snake-A-Roni is a barebones ripoff of the arcade classic, Snake/Tron. The only major difference is there's three game modes. A classical mode, a versus mode, and a competitive mode where players can't harm each other but must grow as big as possible then leave the arena. As a multiplayer focused game this is dead, there's no players, because it's a cheap Snake ripoff. Who would have thought nobody would want to play such a game. It's presented in a fairly lazy, minimalist way. Resolution and controls are locked, which also pushes the game below minimum acceptable standards for PC. This is free, but then so are at least another 8,000 games on Steam. I can't recommend this one.

I selected this game to go up against a DOS game in my DOS vs. Steam series, where I pit DOS shareware / freeware titles against Steam F2P and Demo titles. I figured it would be a toss up against Alex the Alligator 2. It ended up being quite decisive victory for Snake-A-Roni. Full controller support, responsive controls, and a variety of game modes requiring different skills add to the above average presentation. If you enjoy snake gameplay, you'll likely love this hidden gem on Steam. Score: 3.5 / 5.0 -- Recommend. Where is the fun? In "Adventure" mode you just move and eat powerups. no fight, no chance to get destroyed. In fight mode you play with bots and have a creepy controll.
