SOK PRO is a lazy, unabashed ripoff of the free 1990's Adobe Flash game, Sokoban. Like, it's even in the name that this is a ripoff. So, does this ripoff offer anything new that might make PC gamers in 2023 want to abandon modernisim and return to browser games? Hell, no. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Developed and published by Siberian Mouse, the game doesn’t try to disguise its Sokoban lineage—box pushing on compact grid-based maps remains the core mechanic—but it presents that foundation with updated visual polish, smooth controls, and a welcoming interface. The experience begins simply, with easily solvable layouts designed to teach movement, positioning, and spatial awareness, but it gradually evolves into a thoughtful, brain-bending challenge. Instead of inventing new rules, the game focuses on refining those that already work, and that restraint allows the puzzles to shine without distraction. Its structure is built around a set of handcrafted levels that increase in complexity at a steady, satisfying pace. Early stages encourage experimentation and build confidence, while later puzzles force you to consider long-term consequences, sequencing, and the possibility of cornering yourself with a single careless move. Because the player can only push crates and never pull them, every decision carries weight, and success often comes from …1 found this helpful
