Sonya: The Great Adventure

Ho hum... This isn't so bad, but it has it's issues. While the artwork is nice... I feel like the game isn't that fun to play. Even though this one doesn't have 3 million ways to backtrack... It's just you going from one spot to another, then needing an item and going back to other spots... Hoping the H.O. scenes respawned and you can get that said item. That and H.O. scenes themselves can be a bit naughty. As in... You can click on the item multiple times and it wont register it. Bonus game is more backtracking and ehhhhhh... I didn't feel any smarter when I was done. That and some mini-games... *-* Also the story was weird... I mean I get it... But where in the hell did the parents come from...? And... Let's just leave it at that. Eh well. *shrugs*

I really enjoyed this one. Even with the lack of collectibles to search for, and the fact I only played on casual, the game didn't finish too quickly. Probably the best part was that the deductive logic worked so well. When you work out what to do, it makes sense. It's so good to know it can be done, instead of coming up with your own logic and it not matching with the developers' idea of logic... Hidden object scenes occur often, so I was happy with that. Also the scenes are nice and simple, just your standard list, while every now and then you have to click somewhere to alter the scene (eg, open a box lid) to reveal more items. You won't know what is hidden behind something in the scene, but it's usually just one or two items. Other games might make you look for items in a specific sequence, which is utterly annoying, but that doesn't happen here. Puzzles are sometimes a little complicated, but you'll find they are familiar to you if you're a regular with Hidden Object games. It's an unusual game though. Despite playing on casual, nothing was lighting up on-screen for me. It wasn't until during the bonus chapter I realised the button above your journal, on the lower left, was…

Enjoyable from start to finish. Not only are the graphics charming but I also loved seeing so many animals. It kept me both intrigued by the ending and entertained with all the puzzles.

This was a lovely and calm game full of decent riddles. Many of those puzzles I've noticed in their other games too, though. The artwork's beautiful and the story's not really exciting, but not bad at least.
