PRAISE FOR PART 3
"This is spectacular, a brave and fascinating evolution of what can only just be described as “interactive fiction” at this point. A bold step away from the confines of the source material, and a coherent and completely novel experience." - Rock Paper Shotgun
"Sorcery! 3 is unlike anything you’ve ever played. Its mix of puzzle-solving, combat, and choose-your-own-adventure stylings have created a unique form of entertainment that I cannot wait to get back into" - Pocket Tactics, 5/5
"\ of 2015’s best iPhone games", TIME magazine
"This dragon-centric chapter of Sorcery! 3 does a fantastic job of keeping things dynamic and interesting, and better yet, its new puzzle-like aspect gives it the kind of magical, surprise-filled, combat-related fun fantasy fans live for." - Examiner, 5/5
THE STORY
The Crown of Kings has been stolen by the Archmage, and he intends to use it to decimate the Old World. You have been sent, alone, to break into the Citadel of Mampang and get it back. Armed with only a sword, a book of spells, and your wits, you must make your way through the mountains, into the Fortress, through the city within and finally locate the Archmage himself. If you are discovered, it will mean certain death - but sometimes even death can be overcome...

Worst one of the bunch. Couldn't be bothered to finish it. Loved 1, 2 and 3... but this one is awful.1 found this helpful
The end to one of the best choose your own adventure games, and what a great one. It fullfilled everything i hoped for! i throughly enjoyed my time with sorcery part 4 and the story it tells. ▼˶^ᴥ^˶▼ change in game mechanic:
the change in the rewind mechanic can be disabled by an easy gamefile edit. i get what they wanted to accomplish with it, but for me it just made the game more cumbersome
It has fine writing but taking away the rewind mechanic is the stupidest decision. A game that is premised on the player exploring on learning, by taking away the rewind mechanic and punishing the player with perma-death, it's just a baffling decision. So if you're up for redoing your entire run or just love a slog, this maybe for you, otherwise, I don't get what the devs were thinking on this one. It should've been a nice payoff for a long journey, instead, it's just trying to pull some dough really far apart and leaves a bad taste on what should be a strong finish.
Sorcery! Part 4 serves as the grand finale to the celebrated interactive fantasy series created by Inkle and based on Steve Jackson’s classic gamebooks. Developed and published by inkle Ltd, the game places players within the legendary Fortress of Mampang, a sprawling stronghold filled with powerful sorcerers, dangerous creatures, hidden secrets, and political intrigue. As the final chapter of a long journey to reclaim the Crown of Kings, the game carries significant narrative weight and succeeds in delivering a conclusion that feels both personal and epic. What immediately distinguishes Sorcery! Part 4 from many fantasy role-playing games is its commitment to player freedom. The fortress itself functions as a vast open-ended playground where exploration is constantly rewarded. Every district, tower, corridor, and hidden chamber offers opportunities to discover new stories, magical artifacts, shortcuts, and unexpected encounters. Rather than directing players down a single path, the game encourages experimentation and curiosity. Multiple solutions exist for many challenges, making every decision feel meaningful and reinforcing the idea that players are shaping their own unique adv…
This part's gimmick is awful. It doesn't drag it down that much, it's still a great ending to the series.
aww its too hard... i even used to have the paperback, and cheated my a#$ off and still couldn't figure out how to win it
