For centuries, the kingdom of Kanda has been at war with Queen Nidana and her infernal machines. Each day, further reaches of the kingdom fall under her boot, overwhelmed by her enchanted army of iron constructs.
You’re an adventurer, caught in the middle of a war that began before you were born. Perhaps you’re an elf from the Sanctuaries to the west... which the queen’s
machines long ago burned to the ground. Maybe you come from Ridgebank, one of the last human strongholds. Wherever you’re from, now you make your living
helping people, plundering dungeons, or following the coin wherever it leads you. It’s not long before you’re invited to join the resistance and battle back against the dark empress. But will you rally the resistance... or ally with the queen and snuff it Out?
Will you unite the realm and end the queen’s reign of terror... or join her and rule by her side?

- Wield a sword, master magic, or disarm traps as you travel Kanda, a teeming fantasy kingdom struggling against a brutal occupation.
- Engage in epic fantasy combat and turn the tide of the war as you battle side by side with a party full of fighters, spellslingers, and rogues.
- Explore the realm as a human, elf, dwarf, or orc, with four distinct backgrounds that change your adventure.
- Broker peace between the human cities and the dwarven mining colonies or side with the dwarves and take control of the mountains.
- Delve lost ruins to uncover ancient elven artifacts, and restore the elves to their former glory... or sell the artifacts off to the highest bidders.
- Navigate palace intrigue in the orc empire, and decide who should take the throne.

I've had two play/read throughs and i'm kind of split on my verdict. First i played a dwarf who fought against the queen, romanced Khattya (elf mage), encouraging her to form a nieuw scribe order without the jedi-like doctrine, and ended becoming a symbol of unity between all races. Second an elf who was an eye for the queen + romanced her, lots of sabotage against the resistance, and in the end betraying her becoming the sole ruler of the land. (I roleplayed that in the end i realized i was not in love with her but her power + even end up to be a rare achievement) You have a lot of freedom to be the kind of person you want to be. Brutal, Tactical, Kind, Cruel, Humble, Braggadocious. Heck if you decide to join the queen there are many points were you can start a redemption arc for your character by deciding to cast her aside and suport the resistance for real. But what brings this down is some of the writing or rather the lack there of. A lot of conversations are over way too quickly and some location descriptions leaves a lot to be desired. Apart from your fellowship most characters are easily forgettable. This is sadly why i like but also am disappointed with the two epilogue…3 found this helpful

Only did one playthrough so far, plus I don't usually play with portraits if I can help it so keep those in mind. Likes (L) and dislikes (DL) will be presented as I think them up, so they aren't chronological to the story. The simplified conclusion is I like this story. The genre and present themes (i.e fantasy, hero's party, archetypal characters) are some of my favorites, which was a big help (L). I like that the exposition sections allow for a lot of variation in the details of what happens and who you are. There's very clearly a linear storyline, but depending on what you choose you'll move along that line from different perspectives. It gave the game some predictability while also retaining new content (L). Its not hard to make characters mad at you; they have their own personalities, interests, and biases. The party is diverse with members from all available races and they have different priorities. Obviously there are some dialogue options you can choose that just scream '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥', but other times its more so that you unintentionally offend them by focusing on your own priorities. Very good read. You are able to choose the outcome of the story by picking different choices. Its a good stoary with drinking and women. Mature audiances only/ there is so violence. Highly recommend. I have read the demo. Its interesting storyline.
