Sorcery! Part 3, subtitled The Seven Serpents, represents a major turning point in Inkle’s adaptation of Steve Jackson’s classic fantasy gamebook saga. Developed and published by Inkle, the game continues the epic quest while dramatically expanding both the scale of the adventure and the complexity of its decision-making systems. Rather than following a straightforward path, players are dropped into a vast frontier filled with danger, secrets, and unpredictable encounters, creating an experience that feels closer to a living fantasy novel than a conventional video game. The game's central objective revolves around hunting the Seven Serpents, mysterious and powerful creatures that actively move throughout the world instead of waiting passively for the player to find them. This design choice gives the journey a constant sense of urgency and unpredictability. Every decision can influence where the serpents travel, how future encounters unfold, and what opportunities remain available later in the story. The result is an adventure that rewards careful planning while still encouraging experimentation and exploration. Storytelling remains the strongest aspect of the experience. The weakest of the four parts, in my opinion, but still great. I didn't find this map's gimmick to be all that satisfying.
