Souls of Blades

Too much of the game is still untranslated. Unless you want to constantly use google translate on your phone don't bother. Seems like it'd be a great Souls-like game otherwise.

be-warned that this game is abandoned by the devs before you buy. it constantly goes on sale though and i have always thought it looked really cool, so I gave it a gamble. the game was optimized well, it looked really good, flowed really well and had some interesting concepts/lore/ideas. there is a few minor bugs but obviously they won't be patched since the game is long done with but the game has some great art, very fluid and fun combat, sweet boss fights/designs and rewarding exploration. the world isn't as big as i thought it was based off the images and videos i've seen of the game but it means no more or less to where i stand with it. the game was fun, and while there were some times i got lost, you can use the environment to sense where you need to go next. fun game, but don't go in expecting an elden ring level world.

If you dont speak Chinese then dont play the game. I am sure the game is great which is why I am setting it to recommendation. All the prompts are in Chinese so you can never understand what its trying to tell you. I only got the game because it was on sale and was curious.

This game only has 2 chapters, not finished (Flushed down the toilet). The developer made money with this not even half finished game, changed developer publisher's name and now his team is developing a new game called <<<<<<<A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei>>>>>>> Well no thank you, not buying anything from this liar!!!!!

Firstly, the game's text is largely in Chinese - even with the partial translation enabled. This wouldn't be an issue on its own, but worth mentioning. Yes, even the tutorial is entirely in Chinese. So unless you speak that language or have a handy translation device, you won't be able to fully experience the potential nuances of its gameplay. It is poorly optimized, but will likely run smoothly on lowest settings. The gameplay is hard to judge based on the first section of the tutorial, but. There's going to be a lot of 3d platforming with double jump and air dash (this is where I gave up). There is no block button in combat. Enemies (in the tutorial) remind me of the training dummy style of Devil May Cry enemies (intended not to present a danger, but to stay alive long enough for you to "style" on them). Animations are snappy, controls responsive, but there's not much to apply that to.

This game is great! The design, story, voice acting, UX, UI, animation, effects, and game optimization are all top-notch. It's so good that even with my computer graphics settings maxed out, I still get over 30 FPS. The only downside is that the game is mostly in Chinese, which could limit its appeal to a wider audience. If the tutorial had English subtitles, I would definitely keep playing.
