Speakeasy (Open Late Games)

I rarely write reviews, but this is one of those games that really blew me away. There was not one route that I didn't like, the characters were written beautifully, and I find myself falling in love with all of them. This is one of the best on the market by far. I hope more games like this come out, it's an underrated genre. Amazing game, absolutely no complaints.

only played dahlia's route so far, but the characters are charming and the plot is engaging. MC is kinda annoying though, but if you can get past the first hour or so, she gets better (she's less outright clueless and stupid as you get through the story). Character sprites and CGs look amazing, backgrounds eh but serviceable, there are a few textbox issues here and there (text will spill from the box) but not a dealbreaker

This game is somewhere between recommend and not recommend for me. It has some really fun ideas, some stories and bad ends are actually incredibly good, but there is also a ton that just isn’t all that great. You get no voice acting, not that much art and very poor music choices. Compared to other games in the genre around the same price or a bit more expensive, what you get might be disappointing because of that. There are some fully voiced VNs out there that have way more art, more music variety etc. I won’t nickle dime it, though, and just say it’s worth getting on a sale. I’ll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum. Story/writing: It’s alright. Some routes are better than others, some bad ends are WAY more gut punching than others. How much you like the route will probably depend on how much you like the character but also how much OUT of character the other cast will behave. This was actually an issue for me, as in Milo’s story Vincent feels like a completely different person than his own route at times. On Will’s route Dahlia and Vin feel like completely different characters and react to the reveal who the main char is differently than for example in Milo or Vin’s route. The…

It is good but some routes are a bit heavy (as notified)... A bit short also...
