About Spirited Thief

Spirited Thief is a tactical turn-based heist simulator with a twist: take your time to scout ahead and plan your heist as your ghostly friend, then use your knowledge to break in and break out with pricey loot.

Another job gone wrong... Elaj - unlucky thief with a few magic tricks upon his sleeves - and Trin - his partner-in-crime who happens to be an intangible spirit - are on the verge of being kicked out of the ruthless Thieves Guild!

Determined to prove themselves to the guild, and make some sweet steals in the process, Elaj and Trin must work together to infiltrate heavily protected vaults, mysterious crypts, and more. With the occasional help of allies, what secrets, treasures, and troubles will the pair get their hands on?

Scout undetected as Trin, the spirit. Explore, plan, and locate secret passages and treasures without the burden of a physical body.
  • Steal as Elaj, the thief. Loot as much as you can without giving the guards time to react.
  • Outsmart enemies, sneak through locked doors, and break down magical barriers. No door can stop you.
  • With turn-based gameplay, get in and get out before the guards become aware of your presence. You’ve only got so long, so use your turns wisely.
  • Infiltrate wealthy castles, dark dungeons, and occult lairs under the guidance of the infamous thieves' guild.
  • Upgrade your skills with new and exciting abilities in exchange for your ill-gotten gains.
  • Study your briefings so you know what you’re getting into and what to look out for. Will you take it slow and steady to find all the secrets, or is a smash-and-grab more up your street?

Early levels are great. Take turns, move about. Good vibe. Work within the clock and timeframe. Then at some point they decide you need to control multiple units. Still okay, can strategize a bit... Levels were designed to keep your characters together and working in tandem. Then the levels get bigger and start encouraging you to split the team up really wide, and it needs to constantly zoom you back and forth across the map. And you really start to feel how badly designed these levels were. I kinda... just don't want to play anymore when I'm constantly shuffling halfway across the map every turn just to do basic scouting and setup. And I can't even try to just ignore one character because once the mission starts the timers will quickly overwhelm me. Everything about it just starts to feel bad. Real pity too because those early levels felt amazing.

I was sold with the idea of "turn based stealth" game. Easy to learn. The rest is just how to clear the levels. 20+0,5+0,5 levels. Charming characters. Really cool. Investigators are not so cool, though. BUT, just like usual stealth games: if stuck, restart. No problem. Great one.

Turn based heists. Simple enough to wrap your head around, easy to get into, and quite complexe when facing trickier levels.

i didn't made it out of act 1 (out of 3) but so far it's neat puzzle-like game, love the art style
