Squad 22: ZOV is not a good game. 3/10 at best. The art is strong, and it carried the experience, but the equipment screen takes 75% of the gameplay, which is usually fine when there is any gameplay to begin with. There's only 1 free mission, not even a free campaign, and after that you HAVE to purchase to play more. Music, gameplay, animations, etc. except art are all mediocre at best. The gameplay is probably what I looked forward to the most to seeing what it was, and it's just Door Kickers 2: Task Force North, but worse. It's buggier, harder to control, not as smooth, etc. There are some things, like being able to prone and kneel that is good in Squad 22, but overall it's just not worth it. If you want a game like this, but better, buy Door Kickers 2. Low 3/10, devs, try harder.

People will actually play this game and be surprised it is propaganda, when it literally has ZOV in the title. Now ultimately, given how the game is and its weird payment model all around, is it bad? Well, it is kind of really decent for what it is. Although this is really more of a game I think would feel better on a mobile device than a PC. I really enjoy the concept of the mechanics and the concept behind the gameplay, more than I do the game itself. It has everything I would like in a game, but ultimately, I think it is better suited to very different types of players. I really do like the realistic take on super small, single squad unit tactics. The tutorial is a bore, but when the game actually lets you play, it is pretty decent. There is conceptually a lot of decent production here in terms of art, the music, the somewhat inspired persistent characters and the campaigns. But it is ultimately a glorified infantry manual with some pretty tight control over every single action of a single soldier and that is maddening to some, or all of the fun. Great RTS Game, would reccomend, doesnt require a High end device to enjoy, and great easy to learn gameplay

Squad 22: ZOV is a tactical game that I found most interesting when I was planning actions rather than simply reacting to them. I command a small infantry squad and can pause the action to issue orders before letting the battle continue. That structure gives the combat a much more deliberate feeling than a typical action game, and I enjoyed having time to think about positioning and priorities. The game presents a modern conflict setting and states that its story draws on wartime experiences from Russian veterans. The active pause system is easily my favorite mechanic. I can stop the battlefield, look at where everyone is positioned and decide exactly what I want each squad member to do. I liked being able to coordinate movement and attacks without having to issue everything under constant pressure. It makes the game feel closer to commanding a small tactical unit than simply controlling one soldier. The individual squad members also matter. They have different skills and attributes, while weapons and equipment give me more choices when preparing for missions.
