About Star Boss

So why go to the whole long-drawn grudgingly level to the end and fight against eventful boss. It is not better to fight only the boss? You want fight boss in space, using powerful super-weapons? Now it's possible!

Starboss is simple space top down shooter. Player control one small ship and fight against one (mostly) massive enemy ship. Each enemy uses a different tactic, so player must adapt the tactics to the opponent. It is often necessary to equip a ship with a specific super-weapon that will make it easier to win or even to make it possible.

Player can travel across few planetary systems and complete the missions on the planets. Unlock new ships and new super-weapons. And at the end fight with boss of the bosses.

Key Features:

  • 24 different opponents
  • 24 different super-weapons
  • over 60 missions

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the unique boss-duel focused concept and fast-paced gameplay with a decent weapon variety, which sets it apart from typical shooter design. However, the game is held back by poor controls and graphics, a limited progression system, repetitive music, and lack of mission variety, causing some players to find it boring despite its interesting premise.

Simple, indie 2D twin-stick shooter where you mainly fight bosses in space ship duels ✅Very interesting concept that's rarely seen in games, as it features increasingly difficult bosses instead of standard waves of enemies ✅Large number of weapons (24 types) ✅Fast and dynamic gameplay ❌No extensive upgrades or progression system ❌Awful graphics ❌Repetitive soundtrack that doesn't fit the game ❌Lack of variety in mission modes or objectives ✅✅ Verdict: [strike] Terrible [/strike] , [strike] Bad [/strike] , [strike] Mediocre [/strike] , [b] Decent [/b] , [strike] Good [/strike] , [strike] Very Good [/strike] (Rating scale for short games, retro indie simulator games and similar) [quote] If you'd like to see more of my reviews, you can find them on my curator page: [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45994324/admin/reviews_manage/]CuratorKingViking[/url] and on my group: [url=https://steamcommunity.com/groups/CuratorKingViking]GroupKingViking[/url] If you have any questions about my reviews, feel free to ask. Awful controls, bad design, and it gets boring almost immediately. Not worth trying

Star Boss, developed by Hobibit and published by SA Industry, is a small-scale top-down space shooter that attempts to blend arcade-style simplicity with the thrill of large-scale boss encounters. It places the player in the cockpit of a small but powerful spacecraft, pitting them against enormous mechanical foes in intense one-on-one battles. Rather than overwhelming the screen with swarms of enemies or elaborate set pieces, Star Boss focuses entirely on duels between the player and colossal ships that dwarf their own. It’s a concept that immediately evokes the classic David versus Goliath scenario, challenging players to rely on precision, quick reflexes, and smart weapon use rather than brute force. While the premise is engaging and ambitious for such a modest production, the execution alternates between moments of satisfying challenge and stretches of repetition that reveal its indie limitations. Visually, the game delivers a clean but minimalistic presentation that fits its arcade roots. Each arena is set against the backdrop of deep space, with faint nebulae, asteroids, and cosmic light effects giving the impression of vast emptiness. The enemy bosses are designed to look in…
